Venue Overview
Cheyenne Shadows Golf Club is a championship public golf course on the Fort Carson Army post in Colorado Springs, Colorado, set at the dramatic base of Cheyenne Mountain. Designed by noted architect Dick Phelps and consistently ranked among the very best military golf courses in the country, Cheyenne Shadows pairs excellent, premium-caliber conditions with an unbeatable value and stunning Rocky Mountain scenery. Though it sits on an active military installation, the course is open to the public, and civilian visitors can obtain a base access pass to play. With a full-service driving range, a popular grill, and a welcoming staff, it is one of the Pikes Peak region's best-kept golf secrets, and a great host for tournaments, outings, and events.About the Course
Cheyenne Shadows is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by Dick Phelps and opened in 1971 to serve the soldiers of Fort Carson, and open to the public since 1996. Set at the base of Cheyenne Mountain at over 6,000 feet, it plays to 6,919 yards, with the thin high-desert air adding welcome distance and dramatic elevation changes and mountain views adding unforgettable scenery. Course features: 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by Dick Phelps 6,919 yards from the back tees, with a course rating of 71.6 and a slope of 130 Opened in 1971, set at the base of Cheyenne Mountain High-desert setting at over 6,000 feet, where the ball flies farther Dramatic elevation changes and stunning Rocky Mountain scenery Excellent conditions that draw comparisons to premier Colorado courses Ranked among the top military golf courses in the United States On the Fort Carson Army post, open to the public with base accessThe Playing Experience
Cheyenne Shadows plays far above its price. Dick Phelps routed a genuine championship test at the base of Cheyenne Mountain, and while the vibe is honest and no-frills, the conditions consistently punch above their weight, so much so that golfers compare its fairways and greens to premier area courses like the Broadmoor. At over 6,000 feet the thin air rewards you with extra distance, while the elevation changes and mountain views keep every hole interesting. The challenge is fair but real, headlined by the 577-yard par-5 11th and the 461-yard par-4 3rd, the course's number one handicap hole. Add friendly staff and outstanding value, and it is easy to see why this Fort Carson gem draws players from across the region, not just base personnel.Practice Facilities & Amenities

Passes are processed at the Visitor Control Center at Gate 1, off Colorado Highway 115. It is worth allowing a little extra time for gate access on your way to the first tee.Tournaments & Events
