Venue Overview

Rodeo Dunes is a landmark new public golf destination taking shape on the high plains of Colorado near Roggen, about 50 minutes northeast of Denver. Developed by Dream Golf, the Keiser family behind the celebrated Bandon Dunes and Sand Valley resorts, Rodeo Dunes is being built on a vast expanse of pure sand dunes, with a vision of up to six world-class public courses. The first, a walking-only, minimalist links designed by the legendary team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, marks a return to the sandy roots that launched their careers, and a second course from designer Jim Craig is on the way. Blending destination golf with authentic Western rodeo heritage, Rodeo Dunes is poised to become one of the most exciting golf destinations in the country.

The Courses

Rodeo Dunes is being built as a multi-course destination, with two courses already routed and more to come: The namesake first course, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, is a walking-only, minimalist links carved by hand through sand dunes up to 85 feet tall, a return to the design roots the duo made famous at Sand Hills. It opens to the public for the 2027 season, following a 2026 preview. A second 18-hole course, the solo design debut of longtime Coore and Crenshaw associate Jim Craig, will make dramatic use of large, Ireland-style dunes, with a grand opening anticipated in 2028. Plans also call for a short course, a Himalayas-style putting course, and eventually as many as six full courses across the property, along with on-site lodging.

The Setting & Experience

Set on roughly 4,000 acres of rugged, sandy prairie, Rodeo Dunes delivers a style of golf rarely found in Colorado. The land, dotted with towering dunes up to 85 to 90 feet high and often compared to Sand Hills in Nebraska and the links of southwest Ireland, provides a natural canvas so ideal that the fairways and greens needed very little shaping. The result is authentic, light-on-the-land links golf: wide fairways that bend and sweep with the terrain, an emphasis on angles and the ground game, and expansive views stretching all the way to the Rocky Mountains. It is walking-only golf, stripped to its purest essence, less than an hour from Denver International Airport.

A Dream Golf Destination

Rodeo Dunes is the newest project from Dream Golf, the company led by Michael and Chris Keiser, sons of Bandon Dunes founder Mike Keiser and the developers of Sand Valley in Wisconsin. Their stated vision is simple and ambitious: to build a "Sand Hills for the public golfer," a fully public destination resort with three to six championship courses, short-course and putting-course options, and lodging for traveling golfers. It joins Bandon Dunes, Cabot, and Sand Valley in the Dream Golf family, and brings that pedigree of world-class, walkable, nature-first golf to the American West.

Rodeo Heritage

True to its name, Rodeo Dunes is steeped in Western rodeo tradition. The resort is being built on the Cervi Family Ranch, land ranched by the Cervi family since the 1880s and home to Cervi Championship Rodeo, one of the largest rodeo companies in the United States. That heritage is woven into the experience, with Rodeo Dunes hosting rodeo exhibitions and competitions alongside its golf, an authentic blend of ranching, rodeo, and links golf you will not find anywhere else.

Access & Opening Timeline

Rodeo Dunes is opening in stages. A founding membership helped launch the project, and the Coore and Crenshaw course is being eased into operation with a preview season in 2026, largely for founders and their guests. General public play on the first course begins in 2027, with tee times for the inaugural public season released in early 2026. The Jim Craig-designed second course is expected to open around 2028. Importantly, Rodeo Dunes' courses are planned as fully public resort courses, so once open, this is a destination any golfer can experience.
