Venue Overview
Hollydot Golf Club is Colorado City's beautiful, award-winning public golf course, set in the scenic Greenhorn Valley of southern Colorado with mountain views throughout. Designed by acclaimed Colorado architect Frank Hummel, Hollydot offers 27 holes of golf — an 18-hole regulation course plus a nine-hole course — with bentgrass tees and fairways and one of the friendliest clubhouses in the region. Often called the best-kept secret in southern Colorado, it pairs quality conditioning and genuine value with a half-century of history and a strong tradition of hosting charity tournaments, making it one of the area's most welcoming destinations for a round or an event.
About the Course
Hollydot is a public golf facility known for its excellent conditioning, generous fairways, and outstanding value. The main Gold course is an 18-hole, par-71 regulation layout measuring roughly 6,875 yards (rating 71.5, slope 126), complemented by a separate nine-hole course — 27 holes in all. Designed by Frank Hummel and built across the 1970s and 1980s, the course features bentgrass tees and fairways, well-kept greens, and beautiful mountain views. Highly walkable with a traditional, uncrowded layout, it offers a reasonable challenge for any handicap from the right set of tees, plus a few beasts for those wanting a sterner test.

A Course With History
Hollydot's story begins with local cattle ranchers Holland Duell Jr. — "Holly" — and his wife Dorothy, "Dot," whose combined nicknames gave the course its name. Among several enterprises (including a few Kentucky Derby entries), the Duells founded the course as part of Hollydot Park in the fall of 1972, alongside a turf club, indoor pool, tennis court, and hundreds of home sites. While the surrounding development across the highway has since been renamed Meadowcreek, the golf course keeps its original name — and the original attention to detail its member golfers have come to expect.
