Venue Overview

Cattail Creek Golf Course is a public, 9-hole par-3 course in central Loveland, Colorado, owned and operated by the City of Loveland as part of the three-course Golf Loveland system. Designed by architect Dick Phelps and opened in 1991, the course plays 1,355 yards to a par of 27 across four sets of tees, with water in play on five of the nine holes — a design that makes it especially popular with beginners and golfers working on their short game. Its forgiving length and quick pace of play have made it one of the busiest short courses in northern Colorado.

About the Course

Since opening in 1991, Cattail Creek has served as Loveland's entry point into the game, joining Mariana Butte and The Olde Course at Loveland as part of the city's Golf Loveland system. Its short, water-guarded par-3 layout is built for quick rounds and skill-building rather than championship length, and the course has become a staple for junior instruction, beginner clinics, and casual golfers around Loveland's central park corridor. A dedicated Mini-Course and S.N.A.G. (Starting New At Golf) area gives young and first-time players an even more approachable entry point before they move to the full nine, using oversized equipment and shortened holes to teach fundamentals in a low-pressure setting. Tee times across all three Golf Loveland courses, including Cattail Creek, can be booked online or by phone.

  • Jax Jones — Director of Instruction.
  • Jack Cavanagh, PGA — PGA Teaching Professional.
The academy offers customizable golf programs built around individual schedules and budgets, from single lessons to comprehensive training packages, with discounts available for juniors. Instruction emphasizes fundamentals — grip, stance, posture, and alignment — before progressing to more advanced technique with a focus on building a consistent, reliable golf game. Contact the golf shop at (970) 663-5310 or visit jjgacolorado.com for current lesson availability and junior clinics.

Tournaments and Events

Cattail Creek's short par-3 format and central Loveland location make it a convenient, low-cost host for beginner-friendly scrambles, charity fundraisers, and junior golf events. The course hosts the annual Cattail Creek Par 3 Scramble kick-off tournament each season, giving players an early-season warm-up before Golf Loveland's marquee event, the Loveland Classic city championship, which draws competitive golfers from across all three city courses. Contact the golf shop at (970) 663-5310 to check availability and rates.

Apply for Event Management

Event Management Application (2027)
CUP manages 10 sporting events per season, and that is the cap.
Applications for the 2027 season are reviewed starting October 1, 2026. Returning clients confirm their dates first, then remaining slots go to new clients. This is an application, not a booking, and it takes about 6 minutes.

Your organization

Who is hosting, and how we reach you.

Beneficiary

Only if the event raises money for a cause.

Your sporting event

The basics we need to judge fit.

Out-of-state note: our standard pricing covers events held in Colorado. Events outside Colorado are quoted individually with travel and on-site costs included.
Worth knowing before you submit: our fully-managed service starts at 100 people on site. Below that the economics do not work for either of us, so this is likely not a fit. You can still apply, and you can always list your sporting event on the CUP calendar instead.
This one gets a custom quote. Our standard service model covers single-day events with 100 to 160 people on site, including vendors. Larger fields and multi-day events still work, we just scope them and send a custom quote instead of a standard price.

What success looks like

So we can tell you straight whether we are the right team.

Budget and timing

Fully-managed service is a real line item. Straight answers save us both time.

A CUP engagement runs roughly 150 to 200 hours of planning, design, marketing and coordination, handled by one team from the first call to the final award. Applications need a real budget line for professional management, separate from venue, food and prizes.
Worth knowing before you submit: a fully-managed engagement sits above this range, so this is likely not a fit for 2027. You are welcome to apply anyway. If self-serve is the better move right now, you can list your sporting event and add promotion here: list your event.
