Designed by award-winning architect Jim Engh and opened in 1999, Red Hawk Ridge stretches to 6,942 yards at a par of 72, with a course rating of 71.6 and slope of 129. Outstanding bent grass tees and greens contrast with lush bluegrass fairways, scrub oak, and native grasses, while five sets of tees welcome golfers of every experience level to take on the course's extensive mounding, strategically placed bunkers, and greenside lakes.

Red Hawk Ridge has built a reputation as one of the best-conditioned public courses in the Denver region, backed by three straight years of Colorado AvidGolfer CAGGY Award recognition for Best Conditions, along with a 2024 CAGGY for Best Denver Region Course in the Public/Resort category. That combination of Jim Engh's dramatic, risk-reward design and the Town of Castle Rock's course maintenance has made Red Hawk Ridge a standout among Colorado's municipal golf courses.

Designed by a Colorado Golf Hall of Famer

Red Hawk Ridge came from the drawing board of Jim Engh during one of the most transformative stretches of Colorado golf course design. A North Dakota native and Colorado State University graduate, Engh burst onto the national scene in 1997 with Sanctuary, the invitation-only Sedalia course built for RE/MAX founder Dave Liniger that has since helped raise more than $120 million for charity. Engh went on to design Fossil Trace in Golden, Redlands Mesa in Grand Junction, The Club at Pradera in Parker, and Harmony Club in Timnath, earning Golf Digest's inaugural Architect of the Year award in 2003 and a 2002 Colorado Golf Person of the Year honor. He was inducted into the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame in 2022. Red Hawk Ridge, opened in 1999, came early in that run and carries Engh's signature style — dramatic elevation change, bold mounding, and greens that reward a well-planned approach.
