Venue Overview

Heather Gardens Golf Course is a public, 9-hole executive golf course nestled in the heart of the Heather Gardens active adult community in Aurora, Colorado, just east of I-225 in the southeast Denver metro. Designed by noted Colorado architect Dick Phelps, this short but genuinely challenging course pairs a traditional design with lush fairways, elevated greens, and well-positioned bunkers, and locals consider it one of the best nine-hole courses in the Western U.S. Open to the public and known for fast, convenient play, plus the popular on-site Rendezvous Restaurant, Heather Gardens is a friendly, affordable spot for a quick round, a group outing, or an easygoing day of golf.

About the Course

Heather Gardens is a 9-hole executive course designed by Dick Phelps and opened in 1972, tucked into the center of the Heather Gardens community. Playing to a par of 32 over 2,461 yards, its mix of par 3s, par 4s, and a par 5 offers a quick round that still tests every part of your game, thanks to elevated greens and strategically placed bunkers. It is open to the public. Course features: 9-hole, par-32 executive course designed by Dick Phelps 2,461 yards from the longest tees, with a course rating of 33.0 and a slope of 114 Opened in 1972, in the heart of the Heather Gardens community A traditional design with lush fairways and well-positioned bunkers Elevated greens that challenge even accomplished golfers Consistently well-conditioned, with famously tricky greens Considered by many locals the best nine-hole course in the Western U.S. Open to the public, with fast play and a convenient location near I-225

The Playing Experience

Heather Gardens proves that a short course can still be a serious test. At just 2,461 yards it is quick to get around, but the challenge is real, elevated greens and well-placed bunkers demand precise irons and a sharp short game, and the putting surfaces can be genuinely tricky to read. The traditional design and lush, well-kept conditions make it a pleasure to play, whether you are a senior sharpening your game, a beginner learning the ropes, or a busy golfer squeezing in a fast nine after work. Convenient, affordable, and consistently praised, it is easy to see why locals rank it among the best short courses in the West.

Apply for Event Management

Event Management Application (2027)
CUP manages 10 sporting events per season, and that is the cap.
Applications for the 2027 season are reviewed starting October 1, 2026. Returning clients confirm their dates first, then remaining slots go to new clients. This is an application, not a booking, and it takes about 6 minutes.

Your organization

Who is hosting, and how we reach you.

Beneficiary

Only if the event raises money for a cause.

Your sporting event

The basics we need to judge fit.

Out-of-state note: our standard pricing covers events held in Colorado. Events outside Colorado are quoted individually with travel and on-site costs included.
Worth knowing before you submit: our fully-managed service starts at 100 people on site. Below that the economics do not work for either of us, so this is likely not a fit. You can still apply, and you can always list your sporting event on the CUP calendar instead.
This one gets a custom quote. Our standard service model covers single-day events with 100 to 160 people on site, including vendors. Larger fields and multi-day events still work, we just scope them and send a custom quote instead of a standard price.

What success looks like

So we can tell you straight whether we are the right team.

Budget and timing

Fully-managed service is a real line item. Straight answers save us both time.

A CUP engagement runs roughly 150 to 200 hours of planning, design, marketing and coordination, handled by one team from the first call to the final award. Applications need a real budget line for professional management, separate from venue, food and prizes.
Worth knowing before you submit: a fully-managed engagement sits above this range, so this is likely not a fit for 2027. You are welcome to apply anyway. If self-serve is the better move right now, you can list your sporting event and add promotion here: list your event.
