What it looks like

Colorado ultimate events are coed rec leagues and weekend tournaments on grass park fields spring through fall, plus some beach and indoor play, run by player volunteers.

Formats

7v7 Standard
Seven players per side pass a flying disc to score in the end zone.
Mixed / Coed
Teams field a set ratio of men and women on the line, often four and three, with the ratio rule set before each point.
Hat Tournament
Players sign up individually and are placed onto balanced teams, often by drawing names from a hat.
Beach (5v5)
Five players per side on sand with a smaller field.
5v5 Small-Side
Five per side on a smaller field, ideal for fewer players.
Pool Play + Bracket
Teams play several pool games for seeding, then move into an elimination bracket to decide the champion.
League
Teams play a weekly game over a season, often coed, with standings by wins and a playoff at the end.
Disc Through the Hoop
Players throw discs through a hanging hoop from longer and longer distances. The last thrower still hitting wins a new disc.
Pledge Per Point Scored
Supporters pledge a small amount for every point a team scores all weekend. Teams post their totals on a board at the field.
Spirit of the Game Award
Teams vote for the opponent with the best sportsmanship, and the winners get a painted disc trophy. Pose both teams together for a photo.

Registration

In Registration, ask what you need from each entrant, like jersey number. Set a roster minimum and a roster lock date, and split team fees into two to four payments in Invoices if that helps teams sign up.

Results

Open Brackets and schedule. Pick the division, pool play or a bracket, your fields, the first game time and minutes per game. Each of your fields gets its own phone link for scores, and every score updates the bracket for everyone. Tick Post on the event page so players follow it live.

Event day

Teams check in and get field assignments, warm up, play capped games where players make their own calls, then a spirit award and champion are recognized.
