Step by step

Running a snowboard event in Colorado? Here's how to plan it, pick a format and run it on Colorado Under Par, start to finish.

What it looks like

Colorado snowboard and freestyle events happen at ski area terrain parks from December through April, with groms, teens and adults entering amateur contests by age and ability.

Formats

Halfpipe
Riders drop into an U-shaped snow pipe and do tricks off each wall.
Slopestyle
Riders take a course of jumps and rails, doing a trick on each feature.
Big Air
Riders hit one large jump and perform their best trick.
Snowboard Cross
Four to six riders race side by side through a course of banks, rollers and jumps.
Banked Slalom
Riders race one at a time through a course of banked turns between gates.
Rail Jam / Jib
Riders session a set of rails and boxes for a timed jam, landing as many tricks as they can.
Knuckle Huck
Riders launch tricks off the rounded knuckle at the top of a jump landing instead of the jump itself.
Best Trick Jam
Riders get a set time to land their best trick on the main feature, and judges score style. High energy and fun to watch.
Sponsor a Rail
Businesses sponsor a rail, box or jump with a banner and a named best trick award. Clear visibility for local shops.
Shredder of the Year Plaque
A wooden plaque or old board trophy gets each year's top rider's name added. Pose winners with it at the base for a classic photo.

Build it

In the Organizer Dashboard, click Create event and pick snowboard and your format. Every tab, word and Start here guide then follows your sport.

Registration

Choose your team size and divisions, like beginner, intermediate and advanced. In Registration, ask what you need from each entrant, like snowboard or skis.

Results

Event day

Riders check in for bibs, inspect and practice the course, compete in heats or jam sessions while judges score, then podium awards close the day.
