Step by step
Running a kickball event in Colorado? Here's how to plan it, pick a format and run it on Colorado Under Par, start to finish.
What it looks like
Adult kickball is a social rec favorite in Colorado parks and softball fields from spring through fall, with coed teams, charity tournaments and plenty of after-game gatherings.
Formats
- Pool Play + Bracket
- Teams play two or three pool games, then are seeded into an elimination bracket.
- Round Robin
- Every team in a group plays each other once, usually in short timed or five inning games.
- Single Elimination
- Teams play a bracket and one loss sends them home.
- Double Elimination
- Teams are out after two losses.
- Coed
- Teams play with a required mix of men and women on the field and in the kicking order.
- League
- Teams play weekly games over a season, often on weeknights.
- Longest Kick Contest
- Players line up to boot the ball as far as they can, with distances marked by cones. Longest kick wins a prize and the crowd's respect.
- Buy a Do Over
- Teams donate for one extra kick when they foul out. Cap it at one per game to keep play fair and fun.
- Golden Ball Trophy
- Spray paint a kickball gold and mount it as the champion trophy. Each winning team signs it and passes it on next year.
Build it
In the Organizer Dashboard, click Create event and pick kickball and your format. Every tab, word and Start here guide then follows your sport.
Registration
In Registration, ask what you need from each entrant, like jersey number. Set a roster minimum and a roster lock date, and split team fees into two to four payments in Invoices if that helps teams sign up.
Results
Open Brackets and schedule. Pick the division, pool play or a bracket, your fields, the first game time and minutes per game. Each of your fields gets its own phone link for scores, and every score updates the bracket for everyone. Tick Post on the event page so players follow it live.
Event day
Captains check in teams, players warm up, a quick rules talk covers pitching and outs, teams play scheduled games on assigned fields, then bracket finals and awards wrap up the day.
Fun ideas

Tip
One tip for first-timers: bring extra regulation balls and a ball pump, since kickballs lose air and an underinflated ball changes the whole game.
