Step by step
Running a dodgeball event in Colorado? Here's how to plan it, pick a format and run it on Colorado Under Par, start to finish.
What it looks like
Colorado dodgeball events are mostly adult rec leagues and charity tournaments held in school or rec center gyms, played year round by coworker, friend and social teams.
Formats
- 6v6 (Standard)
- Six players per side try to hit opponents with thrown balls or catch throws to get them out.
- Pool Play + Bracket
- Teams play short matches in pools for seeding, then the top teams move into an elimination bracket for the championship.
- Round Robin
- Every team plays every other team in its group.
- Single Elimination
- Teams are seeded into a bracket and a match loss ends their run.
- Double Elimination
- Teams are out only after two match losses.
- No-Sting / Foam
- Uses soft foam or no-sting balls so it is safe for kids, families and beginners.
- League
- Teams play a weekly match night over a season, with standings by match wins and a playoff to crown a champion.
- Last One Standing
- Every player enters a giant free-for-all, and the final player standing wins a prize. A loud, fun way to close the night.
- Buy Back In Tickets
- Players buy a few re-entry passes before games, letting them return after being out. All money goes to the cause and teams love the strategy.
- Golden Dodgeball Trophy
- Champions win a spray painted gold dodgeball, and the most dramatic out gets an acting award. Both make great social photos.
Build it
In the Organizer Dashboard, click Create event and pick dodgeball and your format. Every tab, word and Start here guide then follows your sport.
Registration
In Registration, ask what you need from each entrant, like jersey number. Set a roster minimum and a roster lock date, and split team fees into two to four payments in Invoices if that helps teams sign up.
Results
Open Brackets and schedule. Pick the division, pool play or a bracket, your courts, the first game time and minutes per game. Each of your courts gets its own phone link for scores, and every score updates the bracket for everyone. Tick Post on the event page so players follow it live.
Event day
Teams check in and sign waivers, review rules at a captains meeting, play timed matches with referees, then the champion team is awarded.

Tip
One tip for first-timers: hold a short rules talk before the first game, especially on headshots and catches, because most arguments come from those two calls.
