Step by step
Running a disc golf event in Colorado? Here's how to plan it, pick a format and run it on Colorado Under Par, start to finish.
What it looks like
Disc golf events in Colorado are year-round amateur tournaments, charity events and weekly club gatherings at public park courses, busiest spring through fall.
Formats
- Singles (Stroke Play)
- Each player throws their own disc and counts every throw.
- Best Shot Doubles (Scramble)
- Both partners throw, the team picks the best throw and both play from there.
- Doubles (Alternate Shot)
- Partners share one disc and take turns throwing until it lands in the basket.
- Flex Start
- Players start their round any time within a set window, such as morning to afternoon.
- Match Play
- Players compete basket by basket, and whoever wins more baskets wins the match.
- Round Robin
- Players or teams in a group each play one another in matches, and the best overall record wins the group.
- League
- A weekly club night where players play a round, often doubles or singles, earning points or winnings toward season standings.
- Closest to the Basket
- On one marked basket, the drive that lands closest wins a prize. Players of every skill level have a real shot at it.
- Redo Throw Tickets
- Players buy a few redo throws at check-in for a few dollars each. It raises easy money and takes the sting out of a bad throw.
- Tree Magnet Award
- The player who hits the most trees takes home a gag trophy. Everyone has a story about it, and the photo always gets a laugh.
Build it
In the Organizer Dashboard, click Create event and pick disc golf and your format. Every tab, word and Start here guide then follows your sport.
Registration
Choose your team size and divisions, like MPO (Pro Open), FPO (Pro Women) and MA1 (Advanced). Organizers usually ask for division (skill rating, age or gender), player rating number if they have one, and partner name for doubles.
Results
Open Scores and results to enter each score, and totals rank automatically by division. Tick Post results so everyone can see the standings on the event page.
Event day
Players check in and get scorecards, warm up putting, start together at assigned baskets, then turn in scores for payouts and awards.
