Step by step

Running a crossfit event in Colorado? Here's how to plan it, pick a format and run it on Colorado Under Par, start to finish.

What it looks like

Functional fitness competitions in Colorado are gym-hosted throwdowns and charity workouts held year round, with athletes of all ages and levels.

Formats

Individual RX
Athletes compete solo using the full prescribed weights and movements.
Individual Scaled
Solo division with lighter weights and simpler movements, so newer athletes can compete.
Partner (2-Person)
Two athletes share the work in each workout, splitting reps or moving together.
Team / Affiliate
Teams of three or more, often from one gym, complete workouts together.
Throwdown / Open WOD
A friendly in-house or local event where athletes complete a set workout, often in heats, and scores are posted to a leaderboard.
Masters / Teens
Age-group divisions for older adults and teens, with adjusted weights and movements.
Max Burpee Minute
See who can do the most burpees in one minute. The crowd counts out loud, and anyone can step up for a try.
Pledge Per Rep
Supporters pledge a small amount for every rep an athlete completes in a set workout. Athletes push for every last rep.
Chalk Handprint Wall
Finishers leave a chalk handprint and sign their name on a big board. It becomes a great photo backdrop and lasting tradition.

Build it

In the Organizer Dashboard, click Create event and pick crossfit and your format. Every tab, word and Start here guide then follows your sport.

Registration

Choose your team size and divisions, like RX, scaled and masters (35+). In Registration, ask what you need from each entrant, like affiliate or gym.

Results

Open Scores and results to enter each score, and totals rank automatically by division. Tick Post results so everyone can see the standings on the event page.

Event day

Athletes check in, attend a briefing, warm up, compete in heats with judges, then scores are tallied and awards follow.
