Venue Overview

The Picklr Thornton is a 30,000 square foot indoor club at 9923 Grant St in Thornton Town Center, opened in late December 2024 by franchisees Amber and Brian Rieman of Brighton. It is pickleball only, and it is built around the idea that weather should never be a factor. As the franchisee put it to BizWest, members will never need to worry about rain, wind, cold or heat. Membership also carries nationwide reciprocity, so a Thornton member plays free at any Picklr location in the country.

About the Courts

Nine indoor courts, split six championship and three standard. All are dedicated pickleball with permanent nets, with no dual striping and no tennis sharing. The club describes the courts as having outdoor surfacing applied indoors, though the exact material is not published. Posted hours are Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Seven Certified Training Pros

Thornton publishes one of the deepest named coaching rosters of any Colorado pickleball venue. Gabriel Drury is Head Training Pro, PPR and DUPR certified. Josh Paredes is a Level 3 Training Pro, IPTPA, P4 and DUPR certified. Also on the roster: The Quy, a Level 3 Training Pro, PPR and P4 certified; Frank Arant, Level 2, PPR and P4 certified; Marc Nelson, Level 3, PPR and P4 certified; plus Training Pros Joe Llamzon and Andrew Brandau.

Lessons & Instruction

Thornton's own booking site publishes open play and drop-in play, club league play, DUPR events including a Singles Showdown Round Robin Challenge, and DUPR rating clinics with an Intermediate/Advanced Education and Skills Assessment. Clinics are tiered: P1 and P2 for beginners, P3 and P4 for intermediate and advanced, plus an Advanced Liveball skills-and-drills session. There is a Pickleball 101 Powered by Adidas class, and named socials including Women's Under 3.49 Queens Court, a rotating-partner format, and a Women's 3.5+ Round Robin. A Junior Membership tier is purchasable at Thornton.

Leagues & Events

The Picklr Thornton runs a registered USA Pickleball league and hosts its own Club Championships Tournament. It has also hosted The Dink Minor League Pickleball MLK Weekend Throwdown. Courts are reservable up to seven days in advance for members through PlayByPoint and the branded Picklr app, and drop-in play is explicitly offered.
