Denver Country Club is a private, member-owned country club in Denver, Colorado, founded in 1887 and recognized as the oldest country club west of the Mississippi River. A Course With History

Denver Country Club was the first club west of the Mississippi admitted to the United States Golf Association, in 1896, and was a founding member of the Trans-Mississippi Golf Association in 1901. The club held its first men's golf championship in 1895 — the same year as the inaugural U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur — with its first women's championship following in 1897. In December 1900, club members Walter Fairbanks and Frank Woodward, alongside club professional John Russell, faced the world's top player, Harry Vardon, in an exhibition match that made front-page news across the West. The club's original course was built in 1893/1894 at its first home, Overland Park — the site now known as Overland Park Golf Course, one of Denver's municipal courses. DCC moved to its current Denver location in 1905, and the course has been shaped by multiple architects since, most recently through a 2019 renovation led by Gil Hanse that relocated greens, added tee boxes, restored bunkers, and expanded the practice range.
