Venue Overview

Club Greenwood is at 5757 S Quebec St in Greenwood Village, with tennis reservations at 303.771.2588. It is a 153,000 square foot private athletic club with a long history: it opened July 1, 1987 as Greenwood Athletic Club, added seven indoor clay courts in 1995, expanded the tennis club in December 2014, and took the Club Greenwood name in January 2019. The Indoor Tennis Club runs 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekends. Acreage, parking and seating capacity are not published.

About the Courts

Seven indoor clay courts sit in a permanent, fully air-conditioned 52,000 square foot structure, added in 1995. It is not a bubble or a seasonal dome. The courts are climate-controlled and LED lit, and there is a clay-filtering vestibule at the entrance so you are not tracking the surface through the rest of the club. The club does not publish the clay type, so we do not list one. Outside there are three hard courts and four pickleball courts. Note that the club’s own pages give higher figures in places, up to five outdoor hard and eight pickleball; we have gone with the lower count in each case. There is also one international squash court, one convertible racquetball-to-squash court and one regulation racquetball court.

The Largest Indoor Clay Court Facility in the Western United States

Indoor clay is rare in Colorado, and seven courts of it under one air-conditioned roof is why serious players drive here. The building came in 1995 and is maintained year-round, so clay season never ends and the surface stays consistent through February. That is what makes the October Denver Clay Court Singles Championships a real clay event rather than a hard-court substitute.

Lessons & Instruction

Private, semi-private and group lessons run alongside drop-in drills. The junior pathway follows a ROGY structure: Future Stars for ages four and five, Quickstart for five to eight, Player Development for eight to 10, Challenger for 11 to 13, High School for 14 to 18, and HS Tournament Training. Little Lobbers covers ages three and four, and there are mini camps plus a summer sports camp. Adults have a beginner track and a Player Pathway. The published coaching staff is one of the deepest in the metro: Alex Dove, Director of Racquet Sports, and Ben DeLuca, Assistant Director; tennis professionals Dave Candee, Mary Lynn Garger, Rhona Kaczmarczyk, Thor Holt, Theo Teryazos, Asfaw Aregahegn and Chase Walters; tennis and pickleball professionals Peggy Bernardis, Linda Schley and Molly Carter; head pickleball pro Donnie Gallegos with Mario Boschi; and squash pros Sam Khan and Seth Khan.

Leagues & Events

The tournament calendar runs nearly the full year: the Mixed Member/Member-Guest in February, the Greenwood Singles Challenge and Tall Tales Charity Classic in March, the Greenwood Doubles Championships in April, Summer Singles in July, Summer Doubles in August, the Denver Clay Court Singles Championships in October, Club Championships finals in November, and the Greenwood Doubles Challenge from November into December. The club also fields USTA, CTA and ITA teams.

Access is private membership in tennis-only and athletic-plus-tennis tiers, with no public daily fee. Guests pay fees. Booking runs through Club Automation and the club app; members book six days out starting at 8 a.m. in 60 and 90 minute slots, with a second player required. Confirm outdoor and pickleball counts directly before publishing a draw size, since the club's own pages disagree.
