Venue Overview

Boulder Country Club is a premier private country club in Boulder, Colorado, offering amenities unmatched in the region and creating lifelong memories for generations of members since 1920. Set in the quiet Gunbarrel neighborhood, its centerpiece is a Press Maxwell-designed championship golf course, recently renovated, that winds through mature trees, canals, and lakes beneath the Rocky Mountains. Beyond golf, members enjoy racquet sports, an Olympic-size pool, fitness facilities, and multiple dining venues, all wrapped in a warm, family-focused community. With more than a century of history, Boulder Country Club is a refined and welcoming setting for member golf, gatherings, and events.

About the Course

Boulder Country Club's championship golf course is an 18-hole, par-70 layout designed by noted architect J. Press Maxwell and completed at the club's Gunbarrel location in 1963, with a recent renovation refreshing the course for the modern game. A traditional country club design, it meanders through a quiet residential neighborhood, framed by mature trees, winding canals, and several lakes, and is known for quick, smooth greens. As a private club, play is reserved for members and their guests. Course features: 18-hole, par-70 championship course designed by J. Press Maxwell Completed in 1963 and recently renovated for the modern game A variety of tees, from about 5,400 yards to more than 7,000 yards A traditional layout with mature trees, winding canals, and several lakes Greens known for their quick speed, smooth roll, and strong complexes Rocky Mountain views throughout the round Bent grass greens and winter rye fairways Walkable and beautifully conditioned

A Course With History

Boulder Country Club's roots run more than a century deep. Founded in 1920, the club sought to grow to 18 holes in the late 1920s, only to see those plans halted by the 1929 stock market crash and the Great Depression. In a remarkable twist, the original course became the seed of Boulder's public golf, when the City of Boulder and the Works Progress Administration developed part of the old grounds into a municipal course that opened in 1937, today's Flatirons Golf Course. The country club, meanwhile, moved to the Gunbarrel area to build a larger eighteen, and in 1963 the current Press Maxwell course was completed, followed by a clubhouse, tennis courts, and an Olympic-size pool. More than a hundred years on, that legacy of Boulder golf lives on at the club.

The Playing Experience

Boulder Country Club plays as a classic, traditional test where position and touch matter more than power. Press Maxwell routed the course through the mature, tree-lined Gunbarrel neighborhood, so accuracy off the tee is rewarded, while winding canals and several lakes bring water into the strategy. The real signature, though, is the greens, quick, smooth, and full of subtle character, with the kind of green complexes that make a strong short game essential. Recently renovated and always well-conditioned, with Rocky Mountain views framing the round, it is the sort of course, as one visiting rater put it, with no bad holes, a layout that holds up beautifully even in Colorado's deep field of great clubs.

Apply for Event Management

Event Management Application (2027)
CUP manages 10 sporting events per season, and that is the cap.
Applications for the 2027 season are reviewed starting October 1, 2026. Returning clients confirm their dates first, then remaining slots go to new clients. This is an application, not a booking, and it takes about 6 minutes.

Your organization

Who is hosting, and how we reach you.

Beneficiary

Only if the event raises money for a cause.

Your sporting event

The basics we need to judge fit.

Out-of-state note: our standard pricing covers events held in Colorado. Events outside Colorado are quoted individually with travel and on-site costs included.
Worth knowing before you submit: our fully-managed service starts at 100 people on site. Below that the economics do not work for either of us, so this is likely not a fit. You can still apply, and you can always list your sporting event on the CUP calendar instead.
This one gets a custom quote. Our standard service model covers single-day events with 100 to 160 people on site, including vendors. Larger fields and multi-day events still work, we just scope them and send a custom quote instead of a standard price.

What success looks like

So we can tell you straight whether we are the right team.

Budget and timing

Fully-managed service is a real line item. Straight answers save us both time.

A CUP engagement runs roughly 150 to 200 hours of planning, design, marketing and coordination, handled by one team from the first call to the final award. Applications need a real budget line for professional management, separate from venue, food and prizes.
Worth knowing before you submit: a fully-managed engagement sits above this range, so this is likely not a fit for 2027. You are welcome to apply anyway. If self-serve is the better move right now, you can list your sporting event and add promotion here: list your event.
