Every way to run a squash event
Colorado squash events are held at private clubs, athletic clubs and university courts, mostly fall through spring, with juniors and adults entered by level.
Singles
One player against one in a walled court, best of five games to 11 with point-a-rally scoring, winning by two.
Doubles
Two players per side on a wider doubles court, taking turns hitting. Games are usually to 15 points.
Single Elimination
Players are seeded into a draw and a loss ends their main event run. Winners advance until one player wins the final.
Round Robin
Players in a small group each play one another, and match wins decide placings, which suits small fields.
Consolation Draw
Players who lose their first match drop into a second draw, so everyone gets at least two or three matches.
Team Event
Club or school teams play a set of singles matches by player ranking. The team winning more matches wins the tie.
League
Players or teams meet weekly over a season, with match results tracked in standings or a box ladder.
Clinic, camp or lessons
A coach teaches strokes, movement around the court and tactics through drills and conditioned games.
Social or open play
Players drop in and rotate through casual games, often a round robin mixer with no prizes.
Make it memorable
Fun squash event ideas
Side contests, fundraisers and traditions that people remember as much as the results.
Front Wall Target Tape
Tape boxes high and low on the front wall, and players earn points for each drive or drop that lands inside. Runs fast on a spare court between matches.
Longest Rally Record
Pairs try to keep one rally going as long as possible, and the day's record is posted at the desk. Spectators count shots out loud through the glass.
Pledge Per Point Won
Supporters pledge a small amount for every point their player wins across the draw. Players share their pledge pages and the club posts the total.
Pro Hit Auction
Auction off a private hitting session or lesson with the club's top coach or local champ. A strong prize for serious players and parents.
All White Classic Day
Everyone plays in classic all white clothing for a nod to the game's traditions. Add a best dressed award and a vintage racquet display.
Sponsor the Glass Court
A sponsor's banner sits on the show court glass, and their name is read before every featured match. Strong visibility where crowds gather.
Junior Exhibition Match
Top juniors play a short exhibition on the show court while families watch from the gallery. It inspires younger kids to pick up a racquet.
Old Racquet Trophy
A vintage wooden racquet mounted on a plaque becomes the traveling trophy, with each winner's name added. Pose champions with it at the glass.
