Any sport not listed elsewhere, run as a charity, amateur or rec event at a park, gym, field or community center. Many groups host these on weekends in spring through fall, with indoor options in winter.
Individual
Each person competes on their own. Track scores or times for every entrant and rank them, with the best score or fastest time winning.
Doubles / Pairs
Entrants compete in teams of two. Partners register together, play or perform as a unit, and the pair with the best result wins.
Team
Groups of players compete together as one side. Set a roster size, schedule team matchups or rounds, and the team with the best record or score wins.
Single Elimination
A bracket where losing one match knocks you out. Winners advance each round until one entrant or team remains as champion.
Double Elimination
A bracket where you are out after two losses. Losers drop to a second bracket, and its winner meets the main bracket winner in the final.
Round Robin
Everyone plays everyone else in their group once. Rank by wins, then points, and the top record wins or advances.
Pool Play + Bracket
Entrants are split into small groups that play round robin first. Top finishers from each pool move into an elimination bracket to decide the champion.
Timed / Race
Entrants race a set course or task against the clock. Record finish times, sort fastest to slowest, and award by overall and age group.
Judged / Scored
Judges score each performance using a set rubric. Average or total the judges' scores, and the highest score wins its division.
Distance / Endurance
