Eagle Ranch Golf Course

Venue Overview

Eagle Ranch Golf Club is a public, 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature Design in the small Rocky Mountain town of Eagle, Colorado, just 30 minutes west of Vail. Set in the scenic Brush Creek Valley at a lower elevation than most mountain courses, Eagle Ranch offers a links-like layout of rolling fairways, native grasses, and water on most holes, framed by the Sawatch Range, with a golf season that stretches from early April into November. Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay and opened in 2001, it has hosted Colorado Open qualifiers and Colorado Golf Association events while remaining fair and fun for every level, making it one of the Vail Valley’s best public golf values and a standout setting for tournaments and outings.

About the Course

Eagle Ranch is an 18-hole, par-72 Arnold Palmer Signature Design, opened in 2001 with the King himself christening the course in a 9-hole exhibition. Built on a former working ranch in the Eagle Ranch community, it stretches past 7,400 yards from the tips, with five sets of tees that make it playable from about 5,400 yards on up.

Course features:

18-hole, par-72 Arnold Palmer Signature Design More than 7,400 yards from the tips, with five sets of tees from about 5,400 yards Course rating of 74.1 and a slope of 137 Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, opened in 2001 Links-like layout with a mix of mountain and links-style holes Rolling fairways bordered by long native grasses, with water on most holes Large, undulating greens that play fast, on bent grass with bluegrass fairways Set at 6,600 feet, a lower elevation that extends the season from April into November Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary since 2003 GPS-equipped carts with on-course food ordering

The Playing Experience

Eagle Ranch blends two styles of golf into one memorable round, with holes that feel like classic mountain golf giving way to wide, links-like stretches framed by waving native grasses. Arnold Palmer’s design serves up plenty of decisions: water comes into play on most holes, strategically placed bunkers guard the corners, and the large greens roll fast and true. With five sets of tees and a position at 6,600 feet, where the ball flies roughly 10 percent farther, the course is demanding enough to host Colorado Open qualifiers yet fair enough for a casual weekend round. Antique ranch implements scattered across the property nod to the land’s working-ranch past, and the Sawatch Mountains supply a backdrop that makes it hard to keep your head down.
