Vail Golf Club is the Town of Vail's public golf course, an 18-hole, par-71 mountain layout operated by the Vail Recreation District at the base of the Gore Range, just east of Vail Village. Designed and built in 1962 by Vail pioneer Ben Krueger and recognized by Golf Digest as a Top 100 Resort Course, it is the Vail Valley's most walkable course, threading along Gore Creek and the edge of the White River National Forest at 8,200 feet. The Playing Experience

The fairways are relatively flat but tightly tree-lined, so accuracy off the tee matters more than length, and Gore Creek and a series of beaver ponds add both beauty and bite on several holes. The greens are smooth and can run quick, well guarded by bunkers, and at 8,200 feet the thin air sends the ball noticeably farther. Golf Lessons & Instruction

Instruction at Vail Golf Club is led by Director of Golf Trey Johnson and a staff of award-winning PGA professionals (as of 2026). The club offers private lessons with video swing analysis, junior camps in June and July, and social clinics like Swing Tips & Sips and Ladies, Lessons & Libations, plus adult leagues for regular players.
