Venue Overview

Steamboat Golf Club is a charming, 9-hole public golf course just west of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and the oldest established course in the Yampa Valley. Bordering the Yampa River with beautiful views of the valley and the Steamboat ski mountain, it is a short, walkable, and genuinely affordable round, ranked #13 in GolfPass's Golfer's Choice 2025. Community-owned and family-oriented, with a friendly clubhouse and a scenic creekside deck, Steamboat Golf Club has been a local treasure for more than half a century, and makes a relaxed, welcoming home for a quick round, a league, or a group outing.

About the Course

Steamboat Golf Club is a 9-hole, par-35 course with roots dating to the mid-1960s, making it the oldest established golf course in the Yampa Valley. It is not long, with only one par-4 stretching just past 400 yards, but it is cleverly defended, and a nine-hole round can usually be completed in about two hours, with replay rates available to loop it into a full eighteen. Open to the public and supported by its 100 member-owners, it remains an integral part of the local community. Course features: 9-hole, par-35 public course, playable in about two hours The oldest established golf course in the Yampa Valley Bordered by the Yampa River, with views of the valley and Steamboat ski mountain Defended by lush rough, a meandering creek, and small, confounding greens Groves of mature cottonwoods framing tight fairways One of the most enjoyable walking courses in the Rockies Community-owned, family-oriented, and affordable Ranked #13 by GolfPass Golfer's Choice 2025

The Playing Experience

Steamboat Golf Club proves that a course does not need length to be fun or challenging. There is little trouble by way of yardage, with just one par-4 measuring past 400 yards, but the course defends itself with lush rough, a meandering creek that eagerly collects wayward shots, small and confounding greens, and groves of mature cottonwoods ready to swat down anything offline. It is one of the most enjoyable walking courses in the Rockies, an easy, breezy two-hour nine that welcomes families and beginners while still testing accuracy and touch. All the while, the Yampa River borders the property and the valley and ski mountain fill the horizon, making for a relaxed and scenic round.

Apply for Event Management

Event Management Application (2027)
CUP manages 10 sporting events per season, and that is the cap.
Applications for the 2027 season are reviewed starting October 1, 2026. Returning clients confirm their dates first, then remaining slots go to new clients. This is an application, not a booking, and it takes about 6 minutes.

Your organization

Who is hosting, and how we reach you.

Beneficiary

Only if the event raises money for a cause.

Your sporting event

The basics we need to judge fit.

Out-of-state note: our standard pricing covers events held in Colorado. Events outside Colorado are quoted individually with travel and on-site costs included.
Worth knowing before you submit: our fully-managed service starts at 100 people on site. Below that the economics do not work for either of us, so this is likely not a fit. You can still apply, and you can always list your sporting event on the CUP calendar instead.
This one gets a custom quote. Our standard service model covers single-day events with 100 to 160 people on site, including vendors. Larger fields and multi-day events still work, we just scope them and send a custom quote instead of a standard price.

What success looks like

So we can tell you straight whether we are the right team.

Budget and timing

Fully-managed service is a real line item. Straight answers save us both time.

A CUP engagement runs roughly 150 to 200 hours of planning, design, marketing and coordination, handled by one team from the first call to the final award. Applications need a real budget line for professional management, separate from venue, food and prizes.
Worth knowing before you submit: a fully-managed engagement sits above this range, so this is likely not a fit for 2027. You are welcome to apply anyway. If self-serve is the better move right now, you can list your sporting event and add promotion here: list your event.
