Wellshire Golf Course

Venue Overview

Wellshire Golf Course is an 18-hole municipal golf course in Denver, Colorado, and the only public course west of the Mississippi built to a Donald Ross design. Opened in 1926 and marking its 100th anniversary this year, Wellshire pairs a country-club atmosphere with municipal pricing, mature tree-lined fairways, and an on-site events center for groups looking to golf and gather in one place.

About the Course

Wellshire has carried its country-club character since 1926, when Donald Ross laid out the course on rolling terrain lined by mature trees. The club’s own history ties the course to Ben Hogan, and Wellshire continues to be rated among Denver’s top municipal courses by golfers today.

Playing Experience

Wellshire’s Donald Ross routing runs through mature, tree-lined fairways that give the course a classic, old-world feel uncommon among municipal facilities. The layout rewards shot-shaping and course management over raw length, consistent with Ross’s design philosophy, and has drawn praise from golfers for its clubhouse character and green conditions.
