Valley Hi Golf Course is a City of Colorado Springs municipal golf course on the city's east side, offering 18 holes of traditional parkland-style golf with sweeping views of Pikes Peak and Cheyenne Mountain. One of three municipal courses operated under the same ownership group alongside Patty Jewett Golf Course, Valley Hi has been a fixture of Colorado Springs golf for seven decades, prized by locals for its walkable layout, mature trees, and accessible green fees. Sitting at roughly 6,000 feet of elevation, the course also rewards golfers with a bit of extra carry distance on every shot compared to sea-level layouts.

About the Course

• Designed by golf course architect Henry B. Hughes and opened in 1954
• 18 holes playing to a par of 72 across 6,940 yards from the longest tees
• Course rating of 69.6 and slope rating of 119, with five sets of tees serving every skill level
• Operated since 2015 by longtime Colorado Springs golf professionals Bill Martin and Jeff Martin, who also run cross-town Patty Jewett Golf Course

Practice Facilities

Valley Hi's practice complex includes a driving range with six practice tees, a dedicated putting green, and a short-game chipping area, giving golfers a full warm-up before heading to the first tee. The range and practice areas run on the same schedule as the golf course, so early risers and twilight golfers alike have access to quality practice time. The pro shop also coordinates club fitting and rental clubs for visitors who arrive without their own equipment.

Lessons & Instruction

Valley Hi shares its instructional program with sister course Patty Jewett under the same ownership group, giving golfers access to PGA-caliber teaching at either location.

Tournaments & Events

Valley Hi hosts an active slate of leagues throughout the golf season, including the Valley Hi 9'ers, Valley Hi Thursday Seniors, Valley Hi 18 Hole Women, and additional afternoon golf leagues. The course is also a regular stop for the Pikes Peak Women Golfers, a Tuesday women's league that rotates among courses across the Front Range.
