The 5th Annual CURE SYNGAP1 Golf Tournament brings the community together for a purpose-driven day of golf in support of CURE SYNGAP1 and its mission to advance research, awareness, and support for individuals and families affected by SYNGAP1-related disorders.
Why This Event Matters
We are thrilled to announce the 5th Annual Scramble for Syngap Golf Tournament, taking place on October 3, 2026, at Greer Golf in Greer, SC. This special event brings together golfers, families, and community members united by a shared purpose: advancing the mission of CURE SYNGAP1 and raising awareness of SYNGAP1-Related Disorders, an ultra rare neurological condition. Together, we are driving research forward and creating hope for a cure.
What Is SYNGAP1?
SYNGAP1-Related Disorders is a rare neurological condition that currently affects nearly 500 known individuals in the United States and over 1,700 worldwide, with diagnoses continuing to rise as awareness and genetic testing improve. Caused by a mutation in the SYNGAP1 gene, the disorder results in insufficient SYNGAP protein, which is essential for proper brain development and function. Individuals with SYNGAP1 may experience a wide range of challenges, including intellectual disability, epilepsy, autism, global developmental delay, behavioral
CURE SYNGAP1 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those impacted by SYNGAP1-related disorders through research advancement, education, and family support. SYNGAP1 is a rare genetic neurological condition that affects development, learning, and quality of life.
Families navigating rare diseases often face limited resources, delayed diagnoses, and few treatment options. Events like this tournament play a critical role in funding research, strengthening advocacy efforts, and building a supportive community for those affected.
