Venue Overview

Greer Golf is a public, 18-hole championship course in Greer, South Carolina, and one of the most historic golf properties in the state, with roots running back to a 1954 peach orchard. Owned and operated by the City of Greer and freshly renovated from greens to fairways, the par-72 layout is tucked into the tree-lined foothills of northern Greer, where doglegs, water, and the signature 14th along Lake Apalache keep a round interesting every time out. With a 10,000-square-foot clubhouse, a full practice setup, and a welcoming, community-first atmosphere, Greer Golf is a scenic and affordable home for tournaments, group outings, and private events.

About the Course

Owned by the City of Greer, Greer Golf plays as an 18-hole, par-72 course that winds through the wooded foothills above town. It stretches to 6,350 yards from the back tees, with four sets of tees that keep it fair for every skill level, and recent agronomy work has the course in some of the best shape of its long life.

Course features:

18 holes, par-72 (par 36 front, par 36 back) 6,350 yards from the back tees; four sets of tees from roughly 5,030 to 6,350 yards Four par-5s, four par-3s, and ten par-4s Tree-lined, rolling foothills layout with doglegs and water in play Signature 14th, a dogleg par-4 along Lake Apalache Diamond Zoysia greens and Tahoma 31 Bermuda fairways Driving range, 6,000-square-foot putting green, and pro shop 10,000-square-foot clubhouse with dining and event space Owned and operated by the City of Greer

A Course With History

Greer Golf's story starts in 1954, when a local peach orchard was sold to form Greer Golf and Country Club. The course opened as nine holes in 1955 and expanded to a full 18 in 1965, growing alongside the community for decades. A 10,000-square-foot clubhouse arrived in 2009, and in 2015 every green was converted to Diamond Zoysia, adding nearly 30 percent more putting surface. The City of Greer purchased the club in 2020 and invested heavily in its comeback, renovating the clubhouse, leasing a new cart fleet, regrassing fairways and tees with Tahoma 31 Bermuda, and modernizing course operations. The result is a course with genuine heritage and modern conditioning that locals are proud to call their own.

Apply for Event Management

Event Management Application (2027)
CUP manages 10 sporting events per season, and that is the cap.
Applications for the 2027 season are reviewed starting October 1, 2026. Returning clients confirm their dates first, then remaining slots go to new clients. This is an application, not a booking, and it takes about 6 minutes.

Your organization

Who is hosting, and how we reach you.

Beneficiary

Only if the event raises money for a cause.

Your sporting event

The basics we need to judge fit.

Out-of-state note: our standard pricing covers events held in Colorado. Events outside Colorado are quoted individually with travel and on-site costs included.
Worth knowing before you submit: our fully-managed service starts at 100 people on site. Below that the economics do not work for either of us, so this is likely not a fit. You can still apply, and you can always list your sporting event on the CUP calendar instead.
This one gets a custom quote. Our standard service model covers single-day events with 100 to 160 people on site, including vendors. Larger fields and multi-day events still work, we just scope them and send a custom quote instead of a standard price.

What success looks like

So we can tell you straight whether we are the right team.

Budget and timing

Fully-managed service is a real line item. Straight answers save us both time.

A CUP engagement runs roughly 150 to 200 hours of planning, design, marketing and coordination, handled by one team from the first call to the final award. Applications need a real budget line for professional management, separate from venue, food and prizes.
Worth knowing before you submit: a fully-managed engagement sits above this range, so this is likely not a fit for 2027. You are welcome to apply anyway. If self-serve is the better move right now, you can list your sporting event and add promotion here: list your event.

Then we will be in touch.
