Step by step

Running a pickleball event in Colorado? Here's how to plan it, pick a format and run it on Colorado Under Par, start to finish.

What it looks like

Colorado pickleball events usually run on outdoor rec center or park courts from spring through fall, and indoors at gyms and clubs in winter, with players of all ages, often in doubles.

Formats

Round Robin
Players or teams are split into groups and everyone plays everyone in their group.
Single Elimination
Teams are seeded into a bracket and the loser of each match is out.
Double Elimination
A team is out only after two losses.
Pool Play → Bracket
Teams play a round robin in small pools first, then the top finishers from each pool are seeded into an elimination bracket to decide the champion.
Ladder / League
Players are ranked on a ladder or placed in weekly league play over several weeks.
Mixed Doubles
Each team has one man and one woman.
Skill-Rated (DUPR)
Players are placed into divisions by their published skill rating so matches are even.
Around the World Dinks
Players keep a dink rally alive while rotating to all four kitchen corners. Longest streak wins a paddle, and it is a crowd favorite between rounds.
Pick Your Partner Raffle
Buy tickets for a chance to play one game with the club's top local player or pro. A Colorado raffle license may be needed.
Golden Pickle Trophy
Winners take home a gold spray painted pickle trophy, and the team with the best spirit gets a jar of real pickles. Perfect photo moment.

Build it

In the Organizer Dashboard, click Create event and pick pickleball and your format. Every tab, word and Start here guide then follows your sport.

Registration

Organizers ask for skill rating or self-rated level, age group, division choice, and partner name for doubles.

Results

Event day

Players check in, warm up on assigned courts, play their scheduled matches with scores reported to the desk, then winners are announced and medaled by division.
