Step by step
Running a cricket event in Colorado? Here's how to plan it, pick a format and run it on Colorado Under Par, start to finish.
What it looks like
Colorado cricket is played by club leagues and community groups on park fields and converted turf pitches from April through October.
Formats
- T20 (Twenty20)
- Each team bats for up to 20 overs while the other bowls and fields.
- Tape-Ball
- Played with a tennis ball wrapped in electrical tape, so less gear is needed.
- T10
- Each team bats for just 10 overs, making matches about 90 minutes.
- Sixes (6-a-side)
- Six players per team play short matches of a few overs each, with special rules like retiring batters at a set score.
- One-Day (40/50 over)
- Each team bats for up to 40 or 50 overs in a full-day match.
- Indoor Cricket
- Played in a netted indoor court with a softer ball and walls in play.
- League
- Teams play a season of matches, earning points for wins, with standings and often a final at the end.
- Six Hitting Contest
- Batters face a set number of balls and score points for every six that clears the rope. The crowd counts each big hit out loud.
- Pledge Per Run Scored
- Supporters pledge a small amount for every run their team scores across the tournament. The scorer posts a running total between innings.
- Golden Bat Award
- The top run scorer gets a gold painted bat trophy with their name added each year. Pose them in front of the stumps for a photo.
Build it
In the Organizer Dashboard, click Create event and pick cricket and your format. Every tab, word and Start here guide then follows your sport.
Registration
In Registration, ask what you need from each entrant, like jersey number. Set a roster minimum and a roster lock date, and split team fees into two to four payments in Invoices if that helps teams sign up.
Results
Open Brackets and schedule. Pick the division, pool play or a bracket, your pitches, the first game time and minutes per game. Each of your pitches gets its own phone link for scores, and every score updates the bracket for everyone. Tick Post on the event page so players follow it live.
