Step by step
Running a cornhole event in Colorado? Here's how to plan it, pick a format and run it on Colorado Under Par, start to finish.
What it looks like
Cornhole events in Colorado are casual charity and brewery tournaments held year round at taprooms, parks and festivals, with adult players of all skill levels.
Formats
- Doubles (BYOP)
- Bring your own partner.
- Singles
- One player against another, both throwing from the same end and walking to the other board each frame.
- Blind Draw Doubles
- Players sign up alone and are randomly paired with a partner for the event or each round.
- Round Robin
- Teams are put in pools and play every team in their pool.
- Double Elimination
- Teams drop to a losers bracket after one loss and are out after two.
- Single Elimination
- One loss and the team is out.
- Switcholio
- Players switch partners every round, keeping their own individual win and point totals.
- League
- Players or teams meet weekly at the same venue, playing a set number of games each night, with season standings and a finale.
- Four Bag Sweep
- Sink all four bags in one round to win a bonus prize. It does not happen often, so the whole venue cheers when it does.
- Charity Board Auction
- Local artists paint custom boards that are auctioned at the end of the day. Winners take home an one-of-a-kind set for the backyard.
- Golden Bag Trophy
- Champions win a bag painted gold and mounted on a plaque. They sign it, and it comes back next year for the new winners.
Build it

Players check in, practice throws, get board assignments, play their bracket games and report scores, then winners collect prizes.
