A Design From a Major Champion

Tom Weiskopf built one of the most complete résumés in golf before he ever drew up a course routing. He won 16 PGA Tour titles between 1968 and 1982, including the 1973 Open Championship at Royal Troon during a season in which he won seven tournaments worldwide, and he finished runner-up at the Masters four separate times. After his playing career wound down, Weiskopf turned to golf course architecture, first working alongside Jay Morrish before establishing his own design practice, and went on to create more than 40 courses around the world, including Troon North's Monument and Pinnacle courses in Scottsdale and Loch Lomond in Scotland, home of the Scottish Open. He was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2023. That design pedigree — a proponent of the short par 4 and a key figure in the development of golf across the Rocky Mountain region — is on full display at The Ridge.
