Venue Overview
The Golf Club at Redlands Mesa is a public, 18-hole championship course in Grand Junction, Colorado, widely voted the number one golf course in the state. Designed by acclaimed architect Jim Engh and carved through the dramatic red-rock canyons of the Western Slope, it plays in the very shadow of the Colorado National Monument, with the Grand Mesa and Book Cliffs completing one of the most spectacular backdrops in American golf. Elevated tees, tumbling downhill holes, and natural rock outcroppings make every hole unforgettable, and Grand Junction's high-desert climate keeps the course playable nearly year-round. Add on-site dining and a breathtaking events and wedding venue, and Redlands Mesa is a bucket-list setting for tournaments, outings, and celebrations.About the Course
The Golf Club at Redlands Mesa is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by award-winning architect Jim Engh and opened in 2001. Playing to 7,007 yards from the longest tees, it winds through rugged red-rock terrain at the base of the Colorado National Monument, using dramatic elevation changes, rock outcroppings, and desert sand to create a course that is as beautiful as it is bold. Redlands Mesa is open to the public. Course features: 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by Jim Engh 7,007 yards from the longest tees, with a course rating of 72.7 and a slope of 137 Opened in 2001, carved through red-rock canyons in Grand Junction Set in the shadow of the Colorado National Monument, Grand Mesa, and Book Cliffs Dramatic elevation changes, with nine holes playing downhill from elevated tees Large rock outcroppings and natural water features woven into the layout Bunkers filled with local desert sand Voted the number one course you can play in Colorado High-desert setting with roughly 275 days of sunshine a year for near year-round golfThe Playing Experience
Redlands Mesa is unlike any other round in Colorado. Golf Digest once described it as "like playing golf along the bottom of the Grand Canyon, with a couple of sojourns to the Garden of the Gods thrown in," and that captures the drama perfectly. Jim Engh took full advantage of the high-desert landscape, with nine holes tumbling downhill from elevated tees, towering rock outcroppings framing the fairways, and native terrain left wild wherever possible. It is a course of bold risk-reward decisions, especially among a set of short but tricky par-4s like the 373-yard 4th, which plunges 100 feet with the entire right side falling into oblivion, and the question-mark-shaped 14th, which doglegs sharply around a wall of boulders. The greens are firm and fast, the vistas are jaw-dropping from nearly every tee, and locals simply call it "The Rock." Play it once and you will want to play it again and again.Deadman's Pass: Holes 14–17
The most exciting stretch of golf on the Western Slope is Redlands Mesa's Deadman's Pass, holes 14 through 17. It begins with Temptation, a short par-4 where a daring shortcut over a desert rock lures bold players, then rewards survivors at Treasure, the course's best scoring opportunity. Next comes Trial, where water, a trench, and an uphill approach demand precision and nerve. The stretch finishes at the Crow's Nest, the signature par-3 17th, whose green sits in a natural rock amphitheater beneath the highest, most dramatic elevated tee shot on the course, overlooking all of Western Colorado. It is four holes you will not soon forget.Practice Facilities & Amenities
