Planning a visit to Tamarack Golf Course? Below you will find course details, amenities, and upcoming tournaments and events hosted at this course, plus everything you need to know before you tee off.

Venue Overview

Tamarack Golf Course is a 9-hole public golf course in Limon, Colorado, located 1.5 miles south of town on Highway 71 along the I-70 corridor on the eastern plains. Owned and operated by the Town of Limon, Tamarack has earned a standout reputation among Colorado's small-town courses, having been named "Best 9 Holes in Colorado" by Colorado AvidGolfer.

About the Course

Tamarack Golf Course stands out among Colorado's Eastern Plains courses for the recognition it has earned: Colorado AvidGolfer has singled it out as the best 9-hole golf course in the entire state, a distinction that speaks to the quality of its conditioning and design relative to its small-town setting. Owned by the Town of Limon, the course serves both the local community and the steady stream of I-70 travelers passing through this crossroads town on the plains. Open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily throughout the summer, Tamarack makes it easy for golfers to work a round into a road trip or a weekend visit. Limon's position at the junction of I-70 and Highway 71 makes it a natural stopping point for travelers crossing the plains, and Tamarack has become a destination in its own right for golfers willing to detour for a genuinely excellent 9-hole round. That statewide "best of" recognition is rare for a small-town municipal course, and it has helped put Limon on the map for golfers well beyond Lincoln County.

Practice Facilities

Tamarack Golf Course offers practice space for golfers to warm up before their round, supporting a level of conditioning that has helped the course earn statewide recognition among Colorado's 9-hole layouts.

Dining and Amenities

Tamarack Golf Course is municipally owned and operated by the Town of Limon, with a banquet room available for events and gatherings. Golfers visiting Limon are encouraged to explore the town's dining district after their round, giving visitors a full day of golf and hospitality in this Eastern Plains crossroads community.

Lessons & Instruction

Tamarack Golf Course does not currently have a confirmed PGA-affiliated teaching professional on staff. After a thorough search of available records, including PGA of America's member directory and facility listing, no current named instructor could be verified for this facility. Golfers seeking formal lessons should plan to arrange instruction at a nearby regional facility, though the course's award-winning conditioning still makes it a great place to play and improve.

Tournaments & Events

Tamarack Golf Course hosts a tournament schedule throughout the season and serves as a gathering point for golfers throughout Lincoln County and the broader I-70 corridor. Its statewide recognition as Colorado's best 9-hole course makes it a popular destination for golfers planning trips specifically to play there. The full 2026 tournament schedule is published on the Town of Limon's website, giving golfers an easy way to plan visits around the course's biggest events.

Planning Your Event Here

Tamarack Golf Course's statewide recognition, municipal ownership, and on-site banquet room make it an excellent choice for tournaments, community fundraisers, and group outings looking for a genuinely top-rated 9-hole experience on Colorado's Eastern Plains. Its I-70 accessibility makes it easy for golfers from across the state to attend.

Apply for Event Management

Event Management Application (2027)
CUP manages 10 sporting events per season, and that is the cap.
Applications for the 2027 season are reviewed starting October 1, 2026. Returning clients confirm their dates first, then remaining slots go to new clients. This is an application, not a booking, and it takes about 6 minutes.

Your organization

Who is hosting, and how we reach you.

Beneficiary

Only if the event raises money for a cause.

Your sporting event

The basics we need to judge fit.

Out-of-state note: our standard pricing covers events held in Colorado. Events outside Colorado are quoted individually with travel and on-site costs included.
Worth knowing before you submit: our fully-managed service starts at 100 people on site. Below that the economics do not work for either of us, so this is likely not a fit. You can still apply, and you can always list your sporting event on the CUP calendar instead.
This one gets a custom quote. Our standard service model covers single-day events with 100 to 160 people on site, including vendors. Larger fields and multi-day events still work, we just scope them and send a custom quote instead of a standard price.

What success looks like

So we can tell you straight whether we are the right team.

Budget and timing

Fully-managed service is a real line item. Straight answers save us both time.

A CUP engagement runs roughly 150 to 200 hours of planning, design, marketing and coordination, handled by one team from the first call to the final award. Applications need a real budget line for professional management, separate from venue, food and prizes.
Worth knowing before you submit: a fully-managed engagement sits above this range, so this is likely not a fit for 2027. You are welcome to apply anyway. If self-serve is the better move right now, you can list your sporting event and add promotion here: list your event.
