Southeast Recreation Center and Fieldhouse is the City of Aurora’s newest public recreation center, a 77,000 square foot building with a full-size indoor turf fieldhouse, a gym for indoor pickleball, basketball and volleyball, and an indoor aquatics area. It sits on East Alexander Drive in southeast Aurora, serving the growing neighborhoods around Aurora Reservoir. The temperature-controlled fieldhouse carries indoor soccer, lacrosse and flag football leagues year-round, while drop-in pickleball fills the gym, making the center a go-to indoor sports hub for southeast Aurora.
About the Fieldhouse and Facility
- 23,000 square foot fieldhouse with a full-size field of professional-grade turf
- 8,000 square foot gym: one main basketball court, two cross courts, two volleyball courts or three pickleball courts
- Elevated indoor track, one-ninth of a mile with grade changes
- Natatorium with a 25-yard, four-lane lap pool, lazy river, 20-foot waterslide and zero-depth entry

History
Aurora opened the Southeast Recreation Center and Fieldhouse on January 17, 2023, with a public grand opening the following week. The 41.9 million dollar project was designed by Populous with community input and includes the public art installation Florescence by Adam Buente of Project One Studio. Its elevated track with grade changes was a first for the city.
Indoor Fieldhouse and Pickleball in Aurora
The fieldhouse is the center’s signature space. It hosts an adult indoor soccer league, youth and adult lacrosse, and flag football, and community groups and residents can rent it.
