South Suburban Golf Course is a public golf course run by South Suburban Parks and Recreation on South Colorado Boulevard in Centennial, a few minutes from I-25 and C-470. It is really two courses in one: an 18-hole regulation layout by Dick Phelps that opened in 1973 and plays to par 72, and an adjacent 9-hole par 3 course that is ideal for beginners, juniors and quick practice rounds. Signature undulating greens, mountain views and a rebuilt 18th hole with water and sand give it a strong reputation among south metro golfers. History
South Suburban Golf Course opened in 1973 with a regulation 18 designed by Dick Phelps, according to Colorado AvidGolfer. The district has since added a newly designed 18th hole with water and an abundance of sand, which the magazine called one of the best finishing holes in the state, and a new short-game practice area next to the range.
The Course
The regulation course is known for well-maintained conditions and undulating greens that reward a good putter, and mountain views. The finishing hole brings water and sand into play just when a match is on the line. The 9-hole par 3 course next door is a true practice and family course, home to its own ladies’ league and a popular stop for junior golfers.
