Rifle Creek Golf Course is a public golf course in Rifle, set against the grand Hogback Ridge just down the road from Rifle Mountain Park. Established in 1960, the course offers two distinct nine-hole tracks: a flat, traditional front nine built for championship-style play, and a scenic back nine that winds through the hills of the Hogback. Practice Facilities

Rifle Creek's practice area includes two practice putting greens, two chipping and pitching greens, and a full-length driving range, giving golfers of every skill level a place to warm up before heading out onto either nine. The pro shop also offers regripping services for golfers looking to freshen up their clubs before a round, with a wide variety of grip brands available to match any golfer's preference.

Dining and Amenities

The Rough is Rifle Creek's on-site bar and grill, a welcoming stop before or after a round on either nine. The pro shop is fully stocked with apparel and equipment from major golf brands including Titleist, Callaway, Cobra, and Puma, with special orders available on request and a low local sales tax that helps golfers save on gear. Golfers can also sign up for the club's email newsletter to stay current on upcoming events, special offers, and course news throughout the season.

Lessons & Instruction

Rifle Creek keeps instruction friendly and community-minded, with lessons and club fittings available through the golf shop, overseen by longtime manager Cody Nelson. Seasonal programming includes a free lesson on the second Wednesday of every month as part of the Wednesday Morning Ladies’ League, along with Junior Golf Clinics each June in partnership with Rifle Parks & Recreation and a Junior League for young players. Tournaments & Events

Rifle Creek hosts a full calendar of leagues and tournaments throughout the season, including a Thursday Men's League, a Tuesday Twilight Ladies' League, and a Wednesday Morning Ladies' League, along with Men's and Women's Club Championships. The course also hosts numerous scramble fundraisers, including the Elks' Lodge 4th of July Best Ball, the Jack Sills Memorial, and the Kenny Latham Memorial, as well as junior tournaments through the West Chapter Junior Aces Tour and the Colorado PGA Junior Golf Tour.
