Venue Overview

Perry Park Country Club is a historic, member-owned private golf club in Larkspur, Colorado, nestled among towering pines and dramatic red-rock formations halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs. Established in 1969 and designed by noted Colorado architect Dick Phelps, its 18-hole championship course winds through the rocks and tree lines above Lake Wauconda in a setting of timeless beauty, anchored by a historic 1891 Manor House clubhouse. Recognized by Colorado AvidGolfer among the top private clubs in the Denver region, Perry Park pairs memorable golf with rich history and two on-site restaurants. And because it hosts weddings, charity tournaments, and outside outings on select dates, it is a spectacular setting for events as well as member play.

About the Course

Perry Park's championship golf course is an 18-hole, par-72 layout designed by Dick Phelps and opened in 1969, sculpted by his Audubon-conscious team to work in harmony with the land. Playing to roughly 6,925 yards, it threads through pine forest and striking red-rock formations, with Lake Wauconda and abundant wildlife adding to the character. Member-owned since 2002, it has been thoughtfully updated over the years without losing its timeless charm. Course features: 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by Dick Phelps Roughly 6,925 yards, with a course rating of 72.7 and a slope of 130 Opened in 1969 and member-owned since 2002 Set among towering pines and dramatic red-rock formations Lake Wauconda and natural water features in play An outstanding, varied set of par 3s with memorable views Audubon-conscious design that works in harmony with the land Known for excellent conditioning and a wonderfully quick pace of play

A Course With History

Perry Park's story stretches back well over 150 years. In the mid-1800s the area was an early stagecoach stop on the Denver-to-Colorado Springs route, and a cave on today's 11th tee still bears carvings dating to the 1860s. In 1870, John D. Perry, president of the Kansas Pacific Railroad, purchased the 4,000-acre "Pleasant Park" that would come to bear his name. By 1888, a dam on Bear Creek had created Lake Wauconda, and the grand Hotel Nanichant, near today's 18th tee, became a fashionable retreat for Denver's elite, who arrived by stage from the Larkspur rail depot. The club's clubhouse, the Manor House, is the original 1891 home built along the lake, its deck still overlooking the water and the red rocks. The country club was established in 1969, and its members purchased the course in 2002, ensuring its future would be guided by those who love it most.

The Playing Experience

Perry Park is, quite simply, like no other course in Colorado. Dick Phelps routed the holes through stands of ponderosa pine and towering red-rock formations, so nearly every shot is framed by dramatic scenery, and the course rewards thoughtful, well-placed golf. It is forgiving in spots, but you will want to know where to miss, and its par 3s are a genuine highlight, offering a variety of distances and some of the best views on the property. Lake Wauconda comes into play, wildlife is a constant companion, and the pace of play is among the best around, with 18 holes easily enjoyed in a relaxed afternoon. Timeless, scenic, and full of character, it is a course members and guests return to again and again.

Dining & The Manor House

Perry Park offers two on-site restaurants serving local American cuisine: The Manor House, the historic 1891 clubhouse, with a deck and interior views of Lake Wauconda and the red rocks Max's Grill, a casual spot for a relaxed bite Elegant and casual settings alike for dining before or after a round, and for private gatherings

Golf Lessons & Instruction

Instruction at Perry Park is led by Jonah Purcell, recognized by Colorado AvidGolfer in 2026 as one of the region's top instructors for both men and juniors. Lessons are available for players of every age and ability. Contact the golf shop to arrange instruction.

Weddings & Events

Apply for Event Management

Event Management Application (2027)
CUP manages 10 sporting events per season, and that is the cap.
Applications for the 2027 season are reviewed starting October 1, 2026. Returning clients confirm their dates first, then remaining slots go to new clients. This is an application, not a booking, and it takes about 6 minutes.

Your organization

Who is hosting, and how we reach you.

Beneficiary

Only if the event raises money for a cause.

Your sporting event

The basics we need to judge fit.

Out-of-state note: our standard pricing covers events held in Colorado. Events outside Colorado are quoted individually with travel and on-site costs included.
Worth knowing before you submit: our fully-managed service starts at 100 people on site. Below that the economics do not work for either of us, so this is likely not a fit. You can still apply, and you can always list your sporting event on the CUP calendar instead.
This one gets a custom quote. Our standard service model covers single-day events with 100 to 160 people on site, including vendors. Larger fields and multi-day events still work, we just scope them and send a custom quote instead of a standard price.

What success looks like

So we can tell you straight whether we are the right team.

Budget and timing

Fully-managed service is a real line item. Straight answers save us both time.

A CUP engagement runs roughly 150 to 200 hours of planning, design, marketing and coordination, handled by one team from the first call to the final award. Applications need a real budget line for professional management, separate from venue, food and prizes.
Worth knowing before you submit: a fully-managed engagement sits above this range, so this is likely not a fit for 2027. You are welcome to apply anyway. If self-serve is the better move right now, you can list your sporting event and add promotion here: list your event.

Then we will be in touch.
