Off the Bench
Cortez, CO 81321 United States Get Directions
Venue Overview
Off the Bench is an indoor sports training facility with batting cages and a golf simulator on Main Street in downtown Cortez, at East Main and Market streets in the former Sears building, near the junction of U.S. Highways 160 and 491. Owner Matt Betts, a baseball coach for 18 years, built it as a sports training facility rather than a store: three pitching-machine batting cages, soft toss hitting stations, swing video, a hardwood room with a basketball hoop and volleyball net, a bookable golf simulator and a Venom inflatable obstacle course on weekends. For Montezuma County athletes and golfers, it is a year-round indoor option when winter shuts down fields and courses, and it has hosted a community cornhole league.

Indoor Training and Golf in Cortez
Hitters can work against machine pitching in the cages, then check their swing on video. Golfers book the simulator by the hour through an online tee time scheduler, with punch passes for regulars, so they can keep practicing through the winter.
