Venue Overview

Indian Hills Golf Course is a 9-hole public golf course in Yuma, Colorado, and has been a cornerstone of recreation in Northeast Colorado since opening in 1970. Owned and operated by the High Plains Recreation Association (HPRAI), the course plays 3,531 yards from the longest tees to a par of 36, with a slope rating of 120 and a USGA course rating of 35.7, offering an enjoyable challenge for experienced golfers while remaining approachable for beginners.

About the Course

More than fifty years after opening, Indian Hills Golf Course continues to be a place where friendships are formed and traditions carried on across generations of Yuma-area golfers. The course is known for its wide-open views of Colorado's eastern plains, well-maintained fairways, and fast, undulating greens. Strategic bunkering, mature trees, and varying hole lengths require thoughtful shot selection and reward accuracy, giving the course more character than many small-town 9-hole layouts. Three sets of tees allow golfers of every skill level to tailor their round to their game, from beginners and juniors to low-handicap competitors.

Practice Facilities

Indian Hills offers a complete practice facility designed to help golfers improve every aspect of their game, including a driving range for full-swing work, a dedicated chipping area to sharpen the short game, and a practice putting green to fine-tune touch before heading to the first tee.

Dining and Amenities

The course is home to The Lunch Box at Indian Hills and the Caddy Shack, giving golfers a place to grab food and relax before or after their round. Indian Hills also offers affordable memberships, daily play opportunities, leagues, tournaments, and junior golf programs, reflecting HPRAI's mission to make golf accessible and enjoyable for the whole community. The course is maintained by Golf Course Superintendent Scott Jones, whose extensive background in course management plays a key role in keeping Indian Hills in excellent condition throughout the season.

Lessons & Instruction

Indian Hills Golf Course does not currently list a dedicated PGA-affiliated teaching professional, and the club's own staff directory does not name a specific instructor. Golfers looking for formal lessons should plan to arrange instruction at a nearby regional facility, though Indian Hills' junior golf programs and welcoming atmosphere make it a great place for new players to get started.

Tournaments & Events

Indian Hills hosts a variety of tournaments throughout the season, drawing competitors from across Yuma County and the surrounding High Plains for friendly competition. The course also runs active men's and women's leagues, with the course closed to outside play on league days to accommodate members. Between its tournament schedule and consistent league play, Indian Hills stays busy with organized golf throughout the year.

Planning Your Event Here

With a full practice facility, on-site dining at The Lunch Box and Caddy Shack, an active tournament calendar, and more than fifty years of community history, Indian Hills Golf Course offers real infrastructure for hosting golf events on Colorado's Eastern Plains. Its junior golf programs and welcoming membership community also make it a strong option for family-friendly outings and community fundraisers.

Apply for Event Management

Event Management Application (2027)
CUP manages 10 sporting events per season, and that is the cap.
Applications for the 2027 season are reviewed starting October 1, 2026. Returning clients confirm their dates first, then remaining slots go to new clients. This is an application, not a booking, and it takes about 6 minutes.

Your organization

Who is hosting, and how we reach you.

Beneficiary

Only if the event raises money for a cause.

Your sporting event

The basics we need to judge fit.

Out-of-state note: our standard pricing covers events held in Colorado. Events outside Colorado are quoted individually with travel and on-site costs included.
Worth knowing before you submit: our fully-managed service starts at 100 people on site. Below that the economics do not work for either of us, so this is likely not a fit. You can still apply, and you can always list your sporting event on the CUP calendar instead.
This one gets a custom quote. Our standard service model covers single-day events with 100 to 160 people on site, including vendors. Larger fields and multi-day events still work, we just scope them and send a custom quote instead of a standard price.

What success looks like

So we can tell you straight whether we are the right team.

Budget and timing

Fully-managed service is a real line item. Straight answers save us both time.

A CUP engagement runs roughly 150 to 200 hours of planning, design, marketing and coordination, handled by one team from the first call to the final award. Applications need a real budget line for professional management, separate from venue, food and prizes.
Worth knowing before you submit: a fully-managed engagement sits above this range, so this is likely not a fit for 2027. You are welcome to apply anyway. If self-serve is the better move right now, you can list your sporting event and add promotion here: list your event.
