Venue Overview

Foothills Fieldhouse in Denver is an indoor sports facility run by Foothills Park & Recreation District, located at the district’s Schaefer Athletic Complex. Its strongest differentiator is the layout: two fully enclosed arenas with boards and glass, one with a sport court floor and one with synthetic turf, so pickleball, inline hockey, box lacrosse and indoor soccer can run under one roof. It is open seven days a week year-round, and the locker rooms, sound systems and bleachers in each arena make it a ready-made home for leagues and tournaments.

About the Arenas

  • Two fully enclosed arenas, each 80 by 180 feet, with boards and glass
  • One arena with sport court flooring, one with synthetic turf
  • Bleacher seating for 150 in each arena
  • Full sound systems in both arenas
  • Eight full team-size locker rooms
  • A common area of more than 3,500 square feet for each arena
  • Owned and operated by Foothills Park & Recreation District

Play and Programs

Pickleball at Foothills Fieldhouse is drop-in play on the sport court arena, offered on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Foothills runs pickleball at several sites, including Ridge Recreation Center, Lilley Gulch Recreation Center and Clement Park, and the Fieldhouse gives players an indoor option on an enclosed court surface. The same arena hosts inline and roller hockey, while the turf arena handles soccer and lacrosse. The district lists volleyball, basketball, football and roller derby among the other activities the Fieldhouse can host.

Events Held Here

  • Pickleball: weekday morning drop-in play.
  • Hockey: adult inline hockey drop-in on Friday nights, for ages 18 and up.
  • Lacrosse: seasonal box lacrosse, Intro to Lacrosse for ages 5 to 11, and girls high school lacrosse in fall and winter.
  • Soccer: adult coed 6v6 leagues offered year-round.
  • Youth: Little Rookies and drop-in Little Tots sports stations for ages 18 months to 5 years.

Upcoming events at this venue are listed below.

Lessons, Coaching & Programs

Foothills runs adult leagues and youth introductory classes and leagues at the Fieldhouse, registered through the district’s online system. The Cage Performance Training area on site offers strength, conditioning and performance training, and some insurance-based exercise programs are accepted. No coaches or instructors are named for Fieldhouse programs. Pickleball skills and drills sessions are held at other Foothills sites.

Food, Drink & Amenities

  • Concessions with snack foods, beer and wine
  • Eight team-size locker rooms
  • Bleachers for 150 per arena
  • Cage Performance Training strength and conditioning area

Private Events & Groups

Both arenas rent by the hour: the full turf arena and the full sport court arena, with district and non-district rates. With two arenas, a tournament can run turf and court events side by side, and 150 bleacher seats per arena gives room for up to 300 seated spectators across the building. Rentals are handled by phone through the Fieldhouse front desk.

Membership or Access

Foothills Fieldhouse is a public district facility. Drop-in sessions are pay per visit, leagues and classes are registered online, and district residents receive a resident rate. No membership is required.

Submit it free on Colorado Under Par at coloradounderpar.com/submit-event, and it appears on this venue page and in CUP’s statewide calendar.

Planning Your Event Here

An 80 by 180 foot arena is the unit to plan around. Ask the Fieldhouse how many pickleball courts it lines in the sport court arena, then multiply by four players per court for a doubles round robin. For a multi-sport day, book both arenas so one event runs on turf while another runs on the court. Fieldhouse hours vary, and it closes on major holidays, so confirm your date early, especially in winter league season. Contact the venue for current pricing and availability.

Apply for Event Management

Event Management Application (2027)
CUP manages 10 sporting events per season, and that is the cap.
Applications for the 2027 season are open now. Returning clients confirm their dates first, then remaining slots go to new clients. This is an application, not a booking, and it takes about 6 minutes.

Your organization

Who is hosting, and how we reach you.

Beneficiary

Only if the event raises money for a cause.

Your sporting event

The basics we need to judge fit.

Out-of-state note: our standard pricing covers events held in Colorado. Events outside Colorado are quoted individually with travel and on-site costs included.
Worth knowing before you submit: our fully-managed service starts at 100 people on site. Below that the economics do not work for either of us, so this is likely not a fit. You can still apply, and you can always list your sporting event on the CUP calendar instead.
This one gets a custom quote. Our standard service model covers single-day events with 100 to 160 people on site, including vendors. Larger fields and multi-day events still work, we just scope them and send a custom quote instead of a standard price.

What success looks like

So we can tell you straight whether we are the right team.

Budget and timing

Fully-managed service is a real line item. Straight answers save us both time.

A CUP engagement runs roughly 150 to 200 hours of planning, design, marketing and coordination, handled by one team from the first call to the final award. Applications need a real budget line for professional management, separate from venue, food and prizes.
Worth knowing before you submit: a fully-managed engagement sits above this range, so this is likely not a fit for 2027. You are welcome to apply anyway. If self-serve is the better move right now, you can list your sporting event and add promotion here: list your event.
