Venue Overview
Dos Rios Golf Club sits in a stunning mountain landscape in Gunnison, offering a genuinely challenging round paired with a relaxed, picturesque backdrop. Set at the confluence of the Gunnison and Tomichi rivers that give the club its name, Dos Rios pairs water hazards, sand traps, and demanding fairways with the kind of scenery that makes a round here memorable regardless of score. The club has built a reputation as one of the region’s premier golf experiences, welcoming golfers of every skill level with a course that challenges without overwhelming. That balance has helped Dos Rios become a staple for both Gunnison locals and visitors passing through on their way to Crested Butte, one of Colorado’s better-known mountain resort towns just up the valley.
About the Course
Dos Rios plays to a par of 71 across 18 holes, with four sets of tees ranging from the Blue tees at a 69.3 rating and 127 slope down to the more forgiving Gold tees. Water hazards and sand traps come into play throughout the round, testing accuracy off the tee and precision into greens that reward careful course management. The mountain setting adds elevation and scenery to nearly every hole, and the layout’s mix of shorter and longer par 4s keeps golfers on their toes from the first tee to the eighteenth green. Several holes play alongside the rivers that give the club its name, adding both scenery and strategic consequence to a mishit shot.
Practice Facilities
Golfers can prepare for their round at Dos Rios’s practice facilities before heading out to test their game against the course’s water hazards and bunkering. The club also runs an active Junior Golf program, giving young players a place to develop their skills throughout the season, supported by the club’s PGA-certified instructional staff.
Dining and Amenities
The Dos Grill serves breakfast burritos, lunch, and a full bar daily, with happy hour running every afternoon. It’s a popular stop for golfers looking to relax before or after a round, and the clubhouse atmosphere reflects the club’s broader emphasis on hospitality and community. Dos Rios also hosts weddings and banquets, giving the club a second life as an event venue beyond its golf operations, with the mountain scenery providing a natural backdrop for ceremonies and receptions alike, and the Dos Grill available to handle catering for the reception itself.
