Once part of the historic Dalton Land & Cattle Company, the property carries a working-ranch pedigree that still shows in its open meadows, rock outcroppings, and the Animas River corridor that winds through the round. The course is open to the public, with tee times bookable up to seven days in advance, making it one of the most accessible resort-caliber tracks in Southwest Colorado.

About the Course

Ken Dye's 18-hole design at Dalton Ranch asks golfers to manage elevation change, native rock formations, and the meandering Animas River, which comes into play on several holes. The front nine plays through rolling ranch terrain framed by cottonwoods, while the back nine climbs toward the base of the Hermosa Cliffs for some of the most photographed views in Durango golf. Multiple tee options keep the course playable for a wide range of handicaps, and the well-maintained greens and fairways have made Dalton Ranch a perennial favorite for both resident members and visiting golfers exploring the Four Corners region.

Practice Facilities

Golfers can warm up on Dalton Ranch's practice grounds before heading to the first tee, with space to work on full swings and short-game shots alike. The golf shop is open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and stocks equipment, apparel, and accessories for a day on the course.

The Clubhouse Restaurant at Dalton Ranch is open to the public and led by Chef Tony, who builds a chef-driven seasonal menu around vibrant, locally minded ingredients. The dining room and patio look out over the golf course and the Hermosa Cliffs, making it one of the best-positioned restaurant patios in Durango. Elevated Golf Academy offers individual and group lessons, junior camps, TPI-informed fitness and swing evaluations, and custom club fitting for players of every level, with appointments available by booking online or by phone.
