Venue Overview

Broken Tee Golf Course is a public, City of Englewood-owned facility offering two distinct courses on one property: an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole, par-27 Par-3 course. Designed by architect Perry Dye and opened in 1995 on the site of the former Englewood Golf Course, Broken Tee has become one of the south Denver metro's most versatile municipal facilities, serving everyone from beginners on the Par-3 layout to serious golfers on the full championship course.

Perry Dye's design gives Broken Tee a rare dual identity: the championship 18-hole course offers a full test of shot-making and strategy, while the companion 9-hole Par-3 course, playing roughly 1,517 to 1,750 yards depending on tee selection, gives newer golfers, families, and time-pressed players a faster, lower-pressure way to enjoy the game. That combination has made Broken Tee a cornerstone of the City of Englewood's golf program and a popular entry point for junior and beginner instruction in the area.

A Course From Golf's First Family of Design

Perry Dye, who designed Broken Tee, was the oldest son of golf architecture legends Pete and Alice Dye, and grew up on construction sites, first accompanying his parents to a project at age 12. He went on to found his own firm, Dye Designs, in 1984, eventually building more than 80 courses across 15 countries. That pedigree shows at Broken Tee, where the dual-course concept reflects the same practical, player-focused thinking that defined the Dye family's approach to golf course design — building courses that serve the everyday golfer as well as the serious competitor.

Lessons & Instruction

Broken Tee's instruction program is led, as of 2026, by:

• Chris Schultz, PGA Master Professional — Camp Director with more than 32 years of experience as a PGA Professional; earned PGA Class "A" status in 1987 and PGA "Master" Professional status, a distinction held by only about 350 professionals nationwide, becoming the second-youngest person ever to complete the Advanced Program at age 35; has delivered more than 35,000 golf lessons over his career

Tournaments & Events
