Venue Overview

Breckenridge Golf Club is a truly one-of-a-kind public golf destination in Breckenridge, Colorado, the only municipal Jack Nicklaus Signature course in the world. Owned by the Town of Breckenridge and set at over 9,300 feet in the heart of the Rockies, the club offers 27 holes of championship mountain golf across three distinct nines, the Bear, the Beaver, and the Elk, each designed by Jack Nicklaus. Panoramic snowcapped mountain views greet you on every hole, dense forest gives way to native grassland and wetland, and it is not unusual to share the course with beaver, elk, moose, or even a bear. Add a year-round indoor simulator and a full slate of leagues and events, and Breckenridge is a bucket-list public course and a memorable host for tournaments, outings, and group play.

About the Courses

Breckenridge Golf Club features 27 holes across three Jack Nicklaus Signature nines, the Bear (opened 1985), the Beaver (1987), and the Elk (2001), each playing to a par of 36 and combining into varied 18-hole rounds of par 72. Set at more than 9,300 feet, the courses weave through wooded hillsides, open grasslands, and wetlands, with the thin mountain air adding distance and the Nicklaus design providing plenty of challenge. It is a municipal facility, open to the public. Course features: 27 holes across three Jack Nicklaus Signature nines: Bear, Beaver, and Elk The only municipal Jack Nicklaus Signature course in the world Each nine plays to par 36; 18-hole combinations play to par 72 18-hole rounds stretch to roughly 7,266 yards, with a slope up to 147 Set at over 9,300 feet, where the ball flies farther Panoramic snowcapped Rocky Mountain views from every hole Wooded holes giving way to native grassland and wetlands A certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, rich with wildlife

The Three Nines: Bear, Beaver & Elk

Breckenridge's three nines each tell their own story, and can be mixed and matched for a fresh 18 every time: The Bear, the original nine from 1985, plays across "Buffalo Flats," once a tent city of gold miners The Beaver, opened in 1987, is the most manageable of the three, with beaver ponds and old mining "tailings" dotting the landscape The Elk, added in 2001, offers the most elevation change and the most dramatic panoramic views of the Ten-Mile Range

The Playing Experience

Breckenridge is a genuine Jack Nicklaus Signature test wrapped in unforgettable scenery. At over 9,300 feet the thin air sends the ball soaring, but the design keeps you honest, expect Nicklaus's trademark demands off the tee, solid green complexes, and risk-reward par 5s, with slopes that climb as high as 147 from the tips. The Beaver is the friendliest of the three nines, while the Elk is the toughest and most dramatic, so groups of every ability can find the right challenge. Throughout, snowcapped peaks fill the horizon, gold-mining history lingers in the tailings and ponds, and wildlife, from beavers and elk to the occasional moose or bear, reminds you that a round here is about more than just golf.

Amenities & the Bear Den Simulator

Planning Your Event Here

Breckenridge works well for organizers who want a bucket-list mountain course with the flexibility of 27 holes, all about an hour and a half west of Denver in the heart of Summit County. Golf is seasonal at this elevation, typically running through the summer and early fall, so prime dates fill early, and resident and group rates help with value. Event availability and group outing packages are coordinated directly with the golf staff. Reach out to the club at 970-453-9104 to plan your outing.

Apply for Event Management

Event Management Application (2027)
CUP manages 10 sporting events per season, and that is the cap.
Applications for the 2027 season are reviewed starting October 1, 2026. Returning clients confirm their dates first, then remaining slots go to new clients. This is an application, not a booking, and it takes about 6 minutes.

Your organization

Who is hosting, and how we reach you.

Beneficiary

Only if the event raises money for a cause.

Your sporting event

The basics we need to judge fit.

Out-of-state note: our standard pricing covers events held in Colorado. Events outside Colorado are quoted individually with travel and on-site costs included.
Worth knowing before you submit: our fully-managed service starts at 100 people on site. Below that the economics do not work for either of us, so this is likely not a fit. You can still apply, and you can always list your sporting event on the CUP calendar instead.
This one gets a custom quote. Our standard service model covers single-day events with 100 to 160 people on site, including vendors. Larger fields and multi-day events still work, we just scope them and send a custom quote instead of a standard price.

What success looks like

So we can tell you straight whether we are the right team.

Budget and timing

Fully-managed service is a real line item. Straight answers save us both time.

A CUP engagement runs roughly 150 to 200 hours of planning, design, marketing and coordination, handled by one team from the first call to the final award. Applications need a real budget line for professional management, separate from venue, food and prizes.
Worth knowing before you submit: a fully-managed engagement sits above this range, so this is likely not a fit for 2027. You are welcome to apply anyway. If self-serve is the better move right now, you can list your sporting event and add promotion here: list your event.
