Every way to run a cheer event
Colorado cheer and dance competitions are held in school gyms, convention centers and arenas, mostly from late fall through spring, for school and club teams of all ages.
Cheer Competition
Teams perform a timed routine with stunts, pyramids, tumbling, jumps and dance. Judges score on a rubric, and highest score in each division wins.
Dance / Pom
Teams perform a choreographed routine in a style like pom, jazz or hip hop. Judges score technique, precision and performance.
Game Day
Teams perform a routine like they would at a school game, with fight song, band chant and crowd cheers. Judges score crowd leading and spirit.
Stunt
Teams perform set stunt and pyramid skills, often head to head against another team. Judges score each round, and higher score wins.
Tumbling
Individuals or groups perform tumbling passes like round offs and back handsprings. Judges score difficulty and technique.
Clinic, camp or lessons
Coaches teach stunts, tumbling, jumps or choreography with safety spotters. Group athletes by age and skill.
Social or open play
Open gym or practice sessions where athletes work on skills with supervision. No judging or awards.
