Venue Overview
Castle Pines Golf Club is an ultra-private Jack Nicklaus-designed golf club in Castle Rock, Colorado, widely regarded as one of the finest and most exclusive golf addresses in the country. Often described as “Augusta in the mountains,” Castle Pines hosted the PGA Tour’s The International from 1986 to 2006 and returned to the Tour’s schedule in 2024 as host of the BMW Championship — the first PGA Tour Playoffs event to be played in Colorado in a decade.About the Club
Castle Pines was developed by Jack Vickers, an oil and gas businessman who discovered the property in 1969 while exploring his new hometown of Denver. He spent 12 years acquiring the land from its various owners before engaging Jack Nicklaus to design the course. Construction began in 1979, and Castle Pines Golf Club opened to instant acclaim in October 1981. Golf course and facilities access is limited to Members and their accompanied guests.- 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed championship golf course
- 325 feet of elevation change across the routing, framed by dense ponderosa pine forest

A PGA Tour Championship Venue
Castle Pines hosted The International, a modified Stableford-scoring PGA Tour event, for 21 seasons from 1986 to 2006, with champions including Ernie Els, Davis Love III (a two-time winner, 1990 and 2003), Vijay Singh, David Toms, Jose Maria Olazabal, and Phil Mickelson (also a two-time winner, 1993 and 1997). In 2024, Castle Pines returned to the PGA Tour schedule for the first time since 2006, hosting the BMW Championship — one of the FedExCup Playoffs events. At an average elevation of roughly 6,200 feet, the course plays significantly longer than sea level courses, and its dramatic terrain and towering mountain views have drawn comparisons to Augusta National.Practice Facilities & Amenities
