OAR’s Inaugural Swing For Service

Event Summary
OAR’s Inaugural Swing For Service marked a successful relaunch of a golf fundraising initiative for Operational Allies Refuge after an attempted 2024 tournament did not come together. Seeking experienced support to bring the event to life, OAR partnered with Colorado Under Par in 2025 to transform the concept into a fully executed, mission-driven golf event.
Designed to bring golfers and supporters together around service, sacrifice, and community, Swing For Service paired a professionally organized golf experience with meaningful engagement around OAR’s work supporting U.S. allies and veterans through resettlement, advocacy, and long-term integration. The event successfully established OAR’s first completed golf tournament and provided a strong learning foundation for future growth.
Why This Event Mattered
Operational Allies Refuge supports individuals and families who stood alongside U.S. forces abroad and now require long-term assistance transitioning into life in the United States. Hosting a golf tournament represented an important expansion of OAR’s fundraising and community engagement efforts beyond traditional channels.
Although the primary goal in year one was not aggressive fundraising, the ability to successfully execute and host a live golf event created long-term value. The tournament gave OAR hands-on experience with event operations, sponsor engagement, golfer communications, and on-course flow—knowledge that will directly support stronger outcomes in future years.
