Colorado Under Par on 9NEWS: Giving Back Through Charity Golf

In August 2024, Colorado Under Par founder and CEO Andrew Mueller joined host Phyllis Gutin on 9NEWS’ Colorado & Company (CO1000) to talk about something close to the heart of what CUP does: using golf to give back to the community. The segment spotlighted an upcoming charity tournament and the idea behind it, that a day on the course can raise real money and real awareness for causes that matter.

Golf as a force for good in Colorado

From the beginning, Colorado Under Par has been about more than tee times and leaderboards. The community impact has always been part of the mission, a belief that golf brings people together, and that bringing people together is a powerful way to support local nonprofits and the causes Coloradans care about.

The Colorado & Company appearance was a chance to share that mission with a statewide audience: how a well-run charity golf tournament turns a fun day out into meaningful fundraising, and why partnering sport with philanthropy works so well. Charity golf events give sponsors a feel-good way to get involved, give players a reason to show up beyond the round itself, and give nonprofits a fundraising vehicle that’s genuinely enjoyable to be part of.

The tournament at The Broadlands

The segment promoted an upcoming charity tournament at The Broadlands, with the message simple and direct: get your clubs ready, come out, and play for a good cause. It’s the kind of event Colorado Under Par exists to make happen, a tournament where the golf is the draw and the community is the point.

A mission rooted in community

Conversations like this one reflect what Colorado Under Par has always stood for: that the golf community in Colorado is at its best when it’s giving back. Whether it’s supporting frontline workers, raising money for a local nonprofit, or simply bringing golfers together around a cause, that commitment to community runs through everything CUP does, and it’s why charity and fundraising events remain at the center of the platform today.
