The Playing Experience

Eagle Trace earns its "Challenging But Fair" reputation. The layout is flat and easy to walk, with the Rockies filling the western horizon, but the design keeps you thinking, five lakes and 65 bunkers guard large, sloping bent grass greens, and huge cottonwoods line the fairways. The front nine is the more straightforward half, where good drives set up scoring chances, while the back nine is where the fun really starts, with creative holes and a few short, reachable par 4s that tempt long hitters. As players like to say, you will hit every club in the bag. Even the driving range has personality: it is an aqua range where you hit out over a lake. Affordable and genuinely enjoyable, it is a course that keeps golfers coming back.
