Venue Overview

The Club at Ravenna is a boutique private golf and lifestyle community in Littleton, Colorado, tucked into the dramatic red-rock foothills of Waterton Canyon just southwest of Denver. Its centerpiece is an award-winning Jay Morrish championship course, one of the last designed by the legendary architect, that carries one of the highest slope ratings in Colorado and was ranked among the ten best courses in the United States when it opened. Terraced into arid foothills framed by ancient sandstone cliffs and monoliths, with elevated tees offering 20-mile Front Range views, Ravenna pairs bucket-list golf with a striking new clubhouse, refined dining, fitness and wellness, and one-of-a-kind pursuits like private fly fishing and a members' wine program. It is an elegant, spectacular escape for members and their guests.

About the Course

The Club at Ravenna's championship golf course is an 18-hole, par-71 layout designed by the acclaimed late architect Jay Morrish and opened in 2007. Terraced into the red-rock foothills of Waterton Canyon, it plays to roughly 7,263 yards from the tips across five well-separated sets of tees, and holds one of the very highest slope ratings in Colorado, a genuine championship test. Firm, fast fairways flanked by red-rock outcroppings and deep native rough, forced carries over rugged ravines, and severe, receptive greens make it as demanding as it is beautiful. As a private club, play is reserved for members and their guests. A Jay Morrish Masterpiece

Ravenna is one of the last courses designed by the late Jay Morrish, celebrated for his earlier partnership with Tom Weiskopf, and many consider it his crowning solo achievement, a course on which, as one writer put it, he turned the side of a small mountain into a masterpiece. The accolades came quickly: Golf Digest ranked Ravenna among the ten best courses in the United States when it opened, and Golfweek added it to its list of the top 100 modern courses ever built. With one of the highest slope ratings in the state, it stands among the finest and most demanding championship tests in Colorado, a true player's course wrapped in unforgettable scenery.

The Playing Experience

Ravenna feels like mountain golf despite sitting close to the Denver plains. Jay Morrish terraced the holes into the arid foothills, so elevated tees deliver 20-mile views up and down the Front Range, and even glimpses of the Denver skyline, before the round drops into a landscape of red-rock outcroppings and rugged ravines. Firm, fast fairways run out toward deep native grasses, so precise driving is essential (bring plenty of golf balls), and the greens, severe and full of subtle slope, will test your green-reading to the max. The par-3s are the stars, three of them requiring carries over wooded ravines, including one with a massive elevation drop and a view that is simply out of this world, while gambling holes like the short par-4 7th and the par-5 15th, with its lay-up-or-carry-the-lake second shot, keep the strategy engaging. It is not a walking course, but it is an unforgettable ride.

The Clubhouse & Lifestyle

Ravenna opened a magnificent new clubhouse in 2022, anchoring an elegant, casual lifestyle experience: Sweeping views of the dramatic red-rock formations Refined dining, plus fitness and wellness amenities An elaborate practice area with a range, bentgrass putting green, and dedicated short-game area Unique member pursuits, including private fly fishing on the nearby Platte River and a members' wine program A "pursuits concierge" and a setting bordered by Pike National Forest and preserved open space

Golf Lessons & Instruction

Instruction at Ravenna is led by PGA Director of Golf and Club Operations George Kahrhoff, an award-winning industry veteran, along with the club's professional staff. Members enjoy private lessons, a junior golf program, and ladies' clinics and playing lessons. Members can arrange instruction directly through the golf shop.

Membership

Membership at The Club at Ravenna centers on one of Colorado's most spectacular championship courses, complemented by a new clubhouse, refined dining, fitness and wellness, and singular pursuits from fly fishing to wine tastings, all within a gated red-rock community. Membership structure and benefits are available directly from the club.

Planning Your Event Here

The Club at Ravenna is a private, members-only club, so golf and gatherings are arranged by members or member sponsors directly with the club. A boutique escape in the red-rock foothills of Waterton Canyon, about 30 to 45 minutes southwest of downtown Denver, it offers a dramatic, elegant setting for member events.
