Venue Overview

The Broadlands Golf Course is an 18-hole public golf course on West 144th Avenue in north Broomfield, in the Broadlands neighborhood near the Northwest Parkway and a short drive from I-25 and US 36. Designed by Rick Phelps and opened in 1999, it plays to par 72 and stretches to 7,263 yards from the back tees, long enough to test strong players while forward tees keep it fair for everyone else. It bills itself as consistently rated the best public golf course in Broomfield. Add a full practice facility, indoor golf simulators for winter, four leagues and a Grille, and it is one of the north metro’s most complete public golf venues for tournaments and charity outings.

History

The Broadlands opened in 1999 with a layout by golf course architect Rick Phelps. Since then it has added indoor simulators and a winter simulator league, keeping the clubhouse busy after the course closes for the season.

The Course

Phelps routed The Broadlands through the neighborhood with wide, scenic fairways and well-kept greens, and the course’s own description stresses playing conditions above all. At over 7,200 yards from the tips it is one of the longer public tests in the north metro, so pick a tee box that matches your game. Ladies’ leagues play both 9-hole and 18-hole formats, which shows how well the course splits for shorter rounds.

• Ladies 9-Hole League: Wednesday evenings from May through September.
