Venue Overview
Moodswing is a pickleball and social venue in Denver’s Elyria Swansea neighborhood, just off I-70 on East 48th Avenue. Twelve courts, six indoor and six covered outdoor, sit alongside a roughly 20,000 square foot bar and restaurant and a 33,000 square foot outdoor patio with mountain views. Brick-oven pizza, a central bar with dozens of draft lines, craft coffee, live music, themed parties and outdoor movies make it as much a neighborhood hangout as a place to play. The team behind it has roots in Rayback Collective and Improper City, and the venue is built to host tournaments for 200 or more people, which makes it one of Denver’s biggest spaces for pickleball events.
About the Courts
- 12 pickleball courts: 6 indoor and 6 covered outdoor
- Hard courts with permanent lines and nets
- Court reservations through the PodPlay app
- Free communal paddles and balls
- Coaches available to book
- Retail space for Moodswing gear
History
According to Westword, the Moodswing concept took shape in 2023 among co-owners Justin Riley of Rayback Collective and Improper City, Colton Cartwright of Perpetual First, and Giovanni Leone, a former Improper City general manager who serves as chief marketing officer. After a long build-out in Elyria Swansea, the venue opened on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Indoor Pickleball in Denver
Moodswing splits its courts between an indoor hall and covered outdoor courts, so play continues through Denver winters and summer heat alike. Players reserve courts in the PodPlay app, can book a coach for a lesson, and can borrow communal paddles and balls if they arrive without gear. Because the bar, restaurant and patio wrap around the courts, groups can play a few games and then stay for food, drinks or a show.
